Thanks to prior connections between the Canadian band (who hit it big in the U.S. last year with Stunt) and TWO GUYS executive producers Danny Jacobson and Marjorie Weitzman, the group was recruited to play an especially instrumental role in an upcoming episode that just taped last week.
Titled (no surprise) "Two Guys, a Girl and the Barenaked Ladies," the humdinger of an episode will air in May after the series returns from its spring hiatus. But if you just can't stand a three-month-long wait for details about the band's big role . . . you've come to the right place.
Spoilers ahead!
The Billboard chart-topping band will serve
as Pete's personal Greek chorus, of sorts,
when the formerly-architecturally-inclined
pizza place worker gets serious about
finding a new career. Whether Pete will be
successful in his quest is anybody's
guess--but odds are good that he'll find
some inspiration via a few creative rewrites
of Barenaked Ladies' signature hits.
Another interesting fact of note--TWO GUYS star Ryan Reynolds, who is a Canada native himself, was a huge fan of the Barenaked Ladies long before they were known in the States and proclaims them to be one of his all-time favorite bands. Given Ryan's own recent celebrity status, we're guessing there was quite a bit of autograph swapping going on between rehearsal breaks last week!
