FROM ABC:
How about that Pete Dunville, huh? Not
only does the guy go through a career
crisis (or should we say crunch?), but he
does it along with personalized
accompaniment from one of the hottest
bands to ever cross the Canadian border!
On the May 19 TWO GUYS, super group
and top ten hitmakers Barenaked Ladies
provided Pete with his own "Greek chorus"
during some heavy soul-searching over his
new career.
Barenaked Ladies sung several
never-before-heard verses to their famous
melodies, and we've got the lyrics sheets!
Karaoke anyone?
"Stuck inside a dead-end job
was not part of his plan.
He'd like the opportunity to sell out
to The Man.
The Arnold's of the Nineties
is not where he wants to be,
aging in a pizza joint
like a second-rate Fonzie."
"Looking for a new career
can be daunting,
if you can catch our drift.
Maybe Pete has found his calling
as a psychotherapist."
"Pete tried to be a therapist,
but he sucked.
Maybe next time he will have better luck.
Maybe he should find himself
another line of work,
one where he doesn't come off
as such a jerk."
"So long pepperoni,
so long Parmesan cheese.
No more begging for tips
down on one bended knee.
Well, you want a career,
so you got a career.
And we're sure everything will be fine.
But if it all comes crashing down,
please don't come back here and whine.
So long pizza,
so long to Pizza Pete."
