FROM ABC:

TWO GUYS viewer Audrey recently e-mailed ABC.com: "Am I the only one who saw Pete and Sharon kiss? There is no mention of it anywhere!" Don't worry, Audrey, you definitely weren't the only one--the problem was that neither of the guilty parties wanted to talk about it! Until now . . .

"It came at the very end of the [Valentine's Day] episode, so as I'm reading the script for the first time, I'm reading it and I'm like: 'WHAT?!?,'" laughed Traylor Howard when we asked her for the skinny on the scene that's got everybody talking but Sharon and Pete.

So what's with Sharon's silence? Traylor explains, "I think that she doesn't want to go there. It raises questions . . . we all kind of don't want to deal with things and it's just easier if you don't. She loves [Johnny] and now this happens and it's just too much to think about."

Rich Ruccolo rejoins: "From Pete's perspective--poor, pathetic, passive Pete's perspective--he's been searching and searching and searching for 'the one' . . . he's never really been able to hold down one girlfriend, but he thinks that's all he wants. But Pete kissed Sharon and now he's like, 'Maybe she's the one.' I don't think he really knows if she is 'the one' or if she could be just one that might get away."

Not that Sharon or Pete are listening to us, but perhaps if they did talk about it they'd be able to figure it out. In Traylor's opinion, it's the confusion that makes it such a great ride. "At first I fought the idea," she admits. "I thought it was too soon. But the way that they've handled it has been really fun. It hasn't been like the main focus . . . it's just been something that's come up in situations."

Any hints as to what's coming up next? Traylor's eyes twinkle as she grins mysteriously. We'll take that as confirmation that this isn't the last we'll be hearing of "the kiss"!
