FROM ABC:

Ruccolo on TWO GUYS success

Do you remember what you were doing one year ago? Odds are good that you were sitting in front of your TV watching the series premiere of TWO GUYS, A GIRL AND A PIZZA PLACE! Richard Ruccolo reflects on the show's success--and what the future holds!

The date was March 11, 1998. And all across the country ABC viewers were watching the very first episode of TWO GUYS, A GIRL AND A PIZZA PLACE. Did you predict the midseason show to become one of ABC's biggest sleeper hits? We sat down with star Rich Ruccolo on the set recently, and asked him the same question, to which he admitted, "Yeah, I did."

But while a cult fan following quickly developed, it wasn't until this current season that the show really hit paydirt in the ratings and struck a chord with America's mass audience.

"It took time for the show to grow, but if you really lay it out, it wasn't really that long of a period for the show to start grabbing its legs," explains Rich. "It usually takes a good three seasons for a show to nail its stories and its characters. I think this show found itself pretty quickly."

Will TWO GUYS' upward trend continue? For Rich, it's simply not a question. "It's going to keep going and it's going to get better. I think next year's the season where it's going to just fly."
