Authors Note:
Hey!
I'm Dorit.
Wow, this is my first Buffy fanfiction.... or any kind of fanfiction.... It won't be long. I'll let you get to read what you're here for... I think it's good and pretty beautiful, and I hope you'll like it. Send me your command to wannabe@gezernet.co.il and give my you're honest opinion. Don't be harsh, this is, again, my first fanfic. I do not own the BTVS characters who were in the show in the last two episodes. They were created by Joss Whedon, and belong to him, Mutant Enemy, 20th Century Fox Television and The WB television Network. IAll the other characters in the story are owned by me. Please do not use them. The story is set on the day that the 2nd season ended. I live in Israel, where the last episode was "Innocence", so I apologize if some of the information is incorrect. I got all my information from sites, scripts, and friends. Special Thanks to Nicole and Kate, who helped me with questions, and a great thanks to Alexander Thompson, who wrote great scripts, fact to fact, and helped my story a lot, even though I don't know him, and though he has no idea. Well, to the story!
I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing...
Sunnydale High Halls
Late Noon
Oz and Willow were walking down the school halls, Oz pushing willow's wheelchair. "So, are we going to the Bronze tonight?" asked Oz. "What? Yea, no, what were you saying?" said Willow, confused "I didn't pay attention". "Yea, I see. I asked if were going to the Bronze tonight?" said Oz smiling "And I'll give you a penny for your thoughts..." "I guess so.. about the Bronze..." said Willow "and I'm just worried about buffy. I haven't seen her since that day... and... And she probably needs someone to talk too... and..." "Will, calm down. I'm sure everything is fine" said Oz. "Oh, no... Here in Sunnydale there's always something happening... It's this town motto..." said Willow. "Well, your right about that..." said Oz.
"She has such a difficult life, you know, with the slaying, and the studying, and... I hope she's okay" said Willow. Oz turned left and pulled the wheelchair into the library where Giles was reading today's newspaper. "Hi Giles" said Willow & Oz.
"How are ya Giles?" asked Willow.
Oz left her chair near the table and sat on one of the chairs. "Hey Willow, Oz. I'm feeling fine, thank you. How are you, willow?" asked Giles. "I'm good. Really good" said Willow.
"Good" said Giles.
"Giles, you seem concerned" said willow. "Well, I would really like to know where the hell is Buffy" said Giles.
The Bus from Sunnydale to Los-Angeles
Late Noon.
Buffy sat on a settle near to the window. In front of her sat a young mother with her little child. Buffy looked at them playing with a smile on her face. What am I doing here? a thought crossed her mind... She just left, without knowing where to go or what to do... She just wanted to leave, to get away...
A sharp pane crossed her stomach. All she could think off was her Angel. I should have killed myself... Then we could have been together... I miss him so much! The bus stopped and many people got on it. An old woman came close to buffy's bench. "Is this sit taken?" asked the old woman with a loud voice.
"No" said Buffy.
The old woman sat next to her.
Xander's words were in her mind. I could almost hear his voice... "Willow, uh.... she told me to tell you..." she remembered him saying. "Tell me what?" she heard herself asking. "kick his ass" said Xander.
What that animal did to her. And Jenny... Sweet Jenny. Tears filled her eyes, and slowly fell on her cheek. I would give anything to see him again... Her Angel... She would give anything for them to be together... How ha looked when she hurt him.... She expected to see anger, betrayal.... But all she could see was his love and trust... And pain. His light flooded the room. He believed in her till his last second... And she killed him...
His last words were in her mind. She heard them over and over again. She saw what happened in her head over and over again. "Your hurt... Oh, Buffy god... I feel like I haven't seen you for months... Oh, my god, everything so muddled, I... Oh." said Angel and hugged her tightly "Oh, Buffy..." He kissed me. I missed that touch for so long...
"What's happening?" he asked.
"Shh... Don't worry 'bout it" said Buffy. I kissed him. Him... My only love that was my only hate... "I love you" said Buffy.
"I love you" said Angel.
"Close your eyes" said Buffy. Her voice screamed in her head. He closed his eyes. He did it because he trusted me... And then I've killed him... "Buffy..." said Angel, and opened his eyes with pain. My name was his last word....
Sunnydale High Library
"Well, We haven't seen her or heard from her yet" said Willow in a quiet voice. "I'm afraid I haven't either" said Giles.
"Oh... Like I said before, the curse probably worked, and she and Angel her alone together..." said Oz. "Or she's confused and crashed after everything that happened..." said Willow. Xander and Cordy came in to the library hand in hand.
"Hi guys" said Xander.
"Hey" said Willow & Oz.
"Hello Xander, Cordelia" said Giles.
"Hey" said Cordy and Xander.
"Have you two heard from Buffy?" asked Willow. "Nope" said Cordy.
"Not since yesterday. Anything wrong? New vamps came in town..." said Xander with a smile. "Oh, I don't what I'm going to do" said Cordy, rolling her eyes. "What's wrong?" asked Willow.
"When you were gone..." said Cordy and Oz gave her a look "Well, unconscious, Mrs. Logan... She gave us a work on the Civil War or something. We have to present it next week... " her voice was dramatic "I didn't even started...". "Oh, you didn't tell me about the work. Giles, there are some books about Civil War around here, right?" said Willow.
Giles didn't answer and Willow started looking for it. "Giles?" said Willow and strengthened her voice "Giles?" "What?" asked Giles, looking at her.
"Is that newspaper so interesting?" asked Willow. "No, I was thinking. I'm worried about Buffy" said Giles. "So am I" said Willow.
"About Buff?" asked Xander.
"Yes. I thought she would call us by now" said Giles and frown. "Yea, I guess your right..." said Xander. "Well, I'll call her place..." said Giles. "Cordy and I will check Angel's old apartment" said Xander. "Hello! I'm having a crisis here... Can we talk about me for a sec?" said Cordy. "CORDY!!!" yelled Xander. Cordy groaned and went outside with Xander. "What can I do?" asked Willow.
"You shouldn't do anything, Willow. You're still weak" said Giles. "Oh, no, I feel good, Giles" said Willow. Giles dialed Buffy's phone number and a quiet sniffing voice answered. Joyce.
Los Angeles Bus Stop
Early evening
The bus door closed behind Buffy and the bus left the station. She looked at the light street and tears fell on her cheek. I have nowhere to go to... She thought. I just wanted to leave, to go somewhere else, but... I miss them all- Willow, Xander, Giles, Oz, even Cordy... And her mom. And of course Angel... She really wanted to talk to someone... but also wanted to be alone. She was confused. She couldn't come home... She heard her mother angry voice... "You walk out of this house, don't even think of coming back!" she heard Joyce words.
I caused her, my own mother, so much pain.... I didn't to.... But there was no other choice. I had to save the world... She took a quarter out of her jacket and ringed her dad in the public phone. The phone ringed and suddenly she heard his deep voice... She quickly hanged up. She came close to a near bench and lie down on it. She noticed a dirty blanket near the bench and covered herself with it. She closed her eyes and soon fell asleep...
Sunnydale High Library
"Buffy?" answered Joyce, hoping to hear her daughter's voice. "No, Mrs. Summers. It's Rupert Giles, the librarian form Buffy's school" said Giles politely "I meant to ask you if Buffy's there?". "No, Buffy..." said Joyce sniffing "She..." sniffing again. She couldn't finish the sentence. "Mrs. Summers, why don't I come to your house. I feel you shouldn't stay alone" said Giles in a worried voice. "Oh, I don't wanna bother you..." said Joyce sniffing "Could you?". "Of course. I'll be right there" said Giles. "Thank you, Goodbye" said Joyce sniffing.
"Goodbye" said Giles and hanged up. He turned to Oz & Willow "Listen, I'm going over there right now. Something is wrong and Mrs. Summers shouldn't stay alone". He grab his coat and the two nodded. "You two should stay here in case Buffy comes back" said Giles.
"Wait Giles! I wanna come with you!" said Willow. "Willow, I told you, you're weak. You should stay here." Said Giles. "Look Giles, Buffy is my best friend... I'm worried and if something will happen to her..." said Willow in a loud attacking voice. "It's okay, Giles. I can stay here and wait for Buffy" said Oz. "Well, alright then, we should go" said Giles. He gave Oz one of the library keys and went out. "Later" said Oz and kissed Willow. She pushed her chair outside the library.
Summers Residence
Later
Joyce was sitting on the couch, crying. There was a knock on the door. She got up and opened the door. "Hello" said Joyce sniffing "Come in". Giles and Willow came in. "Hello Mrs. Summers" said Giles pushing Willow's chair forward. "How are you?" asked Willow.
"I'm alright I guess.. no, I'm not alright..." she sniffed and looked at Willow "But you Willow... look at you! Are you alright?" "She's alright now. She had a head trauma, and she was unconscious, so her legs are weak" said Giles. "I'm fine, really. I'll start walking in a day or two" said Willow.
"I thank you so much for coming... I don't know what I would do if..." said Joyce and left the sentence unfinished. "It's okay. I felt you need company now" said Giles.
"I don't ] you to worry for nothing, but have you heard from Buffy, Mrs. Summers?". Asked Willow hesitating. "It's alright, Willow" said Giles.
"No, she... We had a big fight and she left..." said Joyce. "A fight? On what if I may ask?" asked Giles. "Oh... I don't believe this is happening" said Joyce and tears fell from her eyes "There were police officers here. They told she's a suspect of murder of a young girl and attempt to murder of two others- one of them is you, Willow..." "They thought Buffy is the murderer... Oh god!" said Willow in anger "Buffy didn't say a thing about it when we talked on the phone!"
Angel's old apartment
Xander and Cordy came close to the door. It was close. "BUFFY!" yelled Xander.
"Kick it" said Cordy.
"Alright. Be careful" said Xander.
"Oh, like you're that strong. You probably can't do it!" said Cordy. Xander kicked the door with power, and it fell on the floor with great noise. "This place is definitely dumped" said Cordy.
"BUFFY!" yelled Xander again.
"She's not here" said Cordy.
"Nope" said Xander, walking through the small apartment "BUFFY!" he tried again. "We can go" said Cordy. Xander nodded and they both drove back to the library.
Summers Residence
"I suppose she didn't want to make you worry..." said Giles. "Poor Buffy. She haven't done anything..." said Willow and growl. "And was she here?" asked Giles.
"Yes... Well. I noticed her when I was driving in the street. Then she came here. with another guy" said Joyce "And then someone came into the house. They both hit him, and then Buffy took a sharp wood and stuck it in his chest..." she was checking their reaction. Giles was expecting the next line. He exchanged looks with Willow. "You'll probably think I'm crazy... but I've seen it with my eyes. I can't believe it either. He just turned to ashes..." said Joyce.
"We don't think your crazy..." said Giles quickly "That other guy... Did she mention his name?" "I don't think so.... But he had a platinum colored hair... and we met before..." said Joyce. "Really? Where if I may ask?" said Giles. "I Didn't know at start... Apparently On the parents-teachers evening. He attacked Buffy... so I hit him with an axe. He had something weird on his face..." said Joyce. Willow and Giles exchange looks again. "You don't think..." asked Willow.
"Spike!" said Giles.
Sunnydale High Library
Cordy and Xander entered the library and found Oz sitting on the table, reading today's newspaper. "Hey" said Cordy & Xander.
"Hey guys" said Oz.
"Where are Will and Giles?" asked Xander. "They went to visit Buffy's mom. I think something is going on. I stayed in here incase Buffy will show up" said Oz. "Oh, I'm so tired... I'm calling it a night" said Cordy. "Me too... didn't get much sleep lately... I'll give them a call" said Xander. He dialed the phone. "Hello. Buffy?" asked Joyce.
"No, Mrs. Summers. It's Xander. Is Giles there?" asked Xander. "Yes, Xander. Have you seen Buffy?" asked Joyce hoping to hear a positive answer. "No, Mrs. Summers. I'm sorry" said Xander. "Okay" said Joyce and passed the phone to Giles. "Hello, Xander. You didn't found anything?" asked Giles. "Nope" said Xander.
"Well, things are quite complicated here. I'll tell you later, were gonna stay here" said Giles. "Is Will there with you?" asked Xander.
"Yea, Willow is here. I'll drive her home. You can all go home now... Oz too. Oh, and just incase... Write a note to Buffy... Goodbye" said Giles. Xander hanged up and wrote a quick note to Buffy. "Let's go home..." said Xander.
"I'll drive" said Cordy.
"So I guess that means were not going to the Bronze tonight?" said Oz smiling.
Summers Residence
"So, Mrs. Summers... have you heard what were they talking about?" asked Willow. "Not really.... Everything was so weird... I'm sorry" said Joyce. "You were confused. It's okay" said Giles.
"All I remember is they talked about Killing Angel... Buffy boyfriend... Oh... And then she said... Well..." said Joyce. "Said what?" asked Willow. Giles face became serious. He suspected what Joyce was about to say. "That she's a vampire slayer..." said Joyce.
Queen C's Car
Cordy and Xander were making out in the car. "So... Is your parents still in France?" asked Xander. "Yep" said Cordy and started the car's engine.
Summers Residence
"What exactly did Buffy told you?" asked Giles. "Not much. She said she has no time to talk... She has to save the world..." said Joyce. "Well, if you already know there's no point hiding the all picture from you.." said Giles. Willow looked at him with surprise.
"What are you talking about? I don't believe I'm having this conversion... You're not really serious?" said Joyce and looked at Giles face "There's no such a thing as Vampire slayer! I just thought Buffy gone nut!" "Oh, no. Vampires are real..." said Giles.
"You're not really serious?" asked Joyce. "I'm afraid I am. Demons, werewolfs, ghosts, vampires, everything you dreamed on your worst nightmares... It's all real. And it's all here in the Sunnydale- the Hellmouth." Said Giles "And in every generation there is a chosen one... she alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the force of darkness... She is the slayer!
Cordy's place
Cordy and Xander were making out on the couch. "This is even better than the Utility closet" said Xander. "Your are so... haha" said Cordy.
"Well, I think I better go home now. And you can go to sleep" said Xander. "It's pretty late... My parents are anyway not home and I don't like being all alone so... Why don't you sleep here?" asked Cordy. "On the couch, you mean..." said Xander, pretty much asking. "Yea, of course" said Cordy.
"Well, okay. Good night then" said Xander. "Good night" said Cordy and kissed him goodnight.
Summers Residence
"I don't believe it..." said Giles after Giles explained to her the all slayer thing. "I didn't believe it at first too, Mrs. Summers" said Willow. "So Buffy is the slayer? So that means what exactly?" asked Joyce. "That means she slays vamps" said Willow.
"That means she is the only she has the skill and power to hunt and slay vampires" said Giles giving Willow a sharp look. "I heard that already! Then it stops! She's risking her life here! She's only 17 years old!" said Joyce. "It can't stop. It's her faith. Her duty. She was chosen" said Giles.
"And you don't do anything about it?!" asked Joyce angrily. "We are doing something, Mrs. Summers! We're helping her!" said Willow. "And I as her watcher making sure that she'll be ready for anything... there's nothing more we can do!" said Giles "All I have for Buffy is love and respect, but there's no other choice". "Her watcher?" asked Joyce.
"Yes. I'm Practicing her and guiding her and helping her if it's needed. I was chosen too. It's my faith... Buffy is precious to me! She's like a daughter..." said Giles. "I can see it" said Joyce.
Suddenly Willow noticed the note that Buffy left. She pushed her chair forward and looked at the note. Giles looked at her. "What is it Willow?" asked Giles.
"Mrs. Summers, did Buffy left it here?" asked Buffy, taking the note to her hand. Joyce nodded. "Oh, with all the fuss we forgot the reason we called. May I see it?" asked Giles. "Yes" said Joyce. Willow gave it to him and he barley held it because of his broken fingers.
Dear Mom,
The last thing I wanted to do is cause you pain... I wish you'd understand, but you didn't. I had to leave then, To save the world, to save all the people I care about, to save you. I would give everything to have it another way, but I can't. I wish I could explain everything, but this note is certainly not the place. When you'll read this I won't be here. I had to go... to get away from this place. Don't know where, just go. I don't know when and if I'll ever come back (Just wanted to be honest...) Give my love to all my precious. I love you...
Buffy
