"Male Slayer"

Part 3

She began whistling her own jaunty tune, to match her fast pace as she made her way to the cemetery for the second time that night. She looked around and was unable to see anyone else around. A few seconds later, she caught a movement out of the far left of her eye. She veered of towards it. There he was, the male Vampire Slayer. She kept silent and was able to sneak up beside him. She tapped him on his shoulder and watched while he jumped 5 feet into the air.

                "ACK!"

"Sorry..." She laughed at his reaction internally. "I shouldn't have had been able to have done that. You haven't been on this gig very long, have you?" He had what she would think of as that real new Slayer tint to him.

"Um... No, not very long. A few weeks at most..."

"Ah... Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it... It becomes normal after a while. I can't even remember NOT being the Slayer. Scary isn't it? It just... becomes a part of who you are. Took me a while to get things down to par. Took me even longer just to take in that I am the Slayer... The chosen one and everything." She shuffled her feet as she began making her way towards the school.

She wasn't used to talking about Slaying like this. Like it was her life... She was used to making it sound like a hobby of hers, even though it wasn't. She even enjoyed it.

She thought of the library for some odd bizzar reason. They'd be there, Giles and Wesley, they would sleep at the library if they be allowed.

Chad had to lengthen his strides to keep up with Buffy's. "So, I like, rally get to meet Mr. Giles?"

Buffy became exasperated. "Yes." She huffed silently and quickened her steps again. She silently willed him to shut up. It was a sore point, bringing Giles into this, She missed him as her main Watcher.

"That is SO cool. I can't wait. Is it far to his place?"

"It's not his place we're going. It's to the school library. And nothing is far in Sunnydale. Good side of town is about 2 blocks form the bad side."

"Oh well, It's still cool." They continued in silence for a little while, letting the sounds on the pavement made by there feet, to keep them company.

"So, like, you gonna be going to Sunnydale High now?" Buffy asked, tormented from the uncomfortable silence that had fallen between the two.

"Me? No, I graduated last year. I just wanna work in the Library, I hear they have a lot of good books in there that I can read up on." He said with a shrug. He didn't even bother looking at her. He could feel her eyes on him as he put his hands deeper into his pockets.

"Man, old Slayer much... And you say you've only been a Slayer a few weeks? Lucky much."

"Me, Lucky? Yeah, right. Who'd wanna be one?"

"I do, and you are. At least you had a childhood, a full child hood. Kendra didn't, she was in training since she was tiny. Mine was cut short by a number of years. First my parents bickering at each other, made me have to fend for myself. Didn't do a very good job at it either, sorry to say. Then I learned, hey, I'm a Slayer. Good for me. I found out I was the Slayer soon after I turned 16. My life pretty much went down the drain pretty fast from there. I ended up burning down my school in L.A. to get rid of all the vampires. Then of course I ended up getting booted from the school because of it.

I'd slay, and then I'd head home, I'd stay out late Slaying, cause finishing Slaying for the night meant going home. And going home means hearing my parents at each others throats all night. I seriously thought they would kill each other a few times. I've pretty much been on my own since I was about 8 because of it. Maybe even before that. I finally learned how to deal with my life, and being the Slayer, and my mom has to find out about my Sacred duty, yada, yada, yada. She didn't like it, she still doesn't it's awful, I feel sorry for her.

You're lucky. It's plain, at least you had a childhood to remember. You've had a childhood" She repeated. "I lost my friends because of it, Or what I thought were my friends, all my popularity. I had been popular, a snobby back stabbing bitch. But popular. I lost pretty much everything. Then I came to Sunnydale. I thought my life would be better. I gave up Slaying, all of a few hours. I don't wish I could go back. Don't take me wrong, it's just, everything seemed to come at once, it was like a snowball, it just kept getting bigger and bigger. It was the most difficult time in my life. "

Chad stopped and looked her in the eye. He couldn't think of anything to help her, or any words of comfort to tell her. So he just continued walking along beside Buffy on the narrow side walk. He saw the campus of the school strait ahead. Or so what he thought would be the campus to the High School. The lawn was deep green, and stretched on for a while till it reached a cream colored building. A fountain lay in the middle of the terrain. The grass was long, and was in need of a mow. There where sidewalks around the building, and tables set around the campus. The building looked fairly new, but he had a bad feeling that came with it the closer he got to it.

She led him to the side of the building, to a back door. She withdrew a key, inserted it and turned the lock. She pushed Chad in front of her and pulled the door closed loudly behind her. His knees shook as he was forced to step even further into the room. He really didn't like this.

"Welcome to the Hellmouth Chad... It's about 15 paces to your right, that stands the opening to Hell... Giles!" Buffy yelled out his name. *Shuffle* *Shuffle* *THUMP*

"Yes Buffy?" He came out of his office holding his elbow. He saw her eying it. Wesley also exited the office, and took place beside Giles. "Merely banged it on my desk on the way out Buffy. I'm fine."

"That is good that you're fine Giles. Cause you may not be when I tell you my latest information. You're just going to LOVE researching it. Considering I doubt you will have any material on a certain type of Slayers. You're really going to need to look it up."

Giles eyes went wide. "BUFFY!" he snarled at her as he pointed to Chad.

"Yeah, yeah, Giles" She said with a fling of her hand "As I was saying about Slayers..." Giles went to grab her arm. Buffy side stepped. All of a sudden Giles hand was caught by the blond fellows hand.                         The strange boy shook his hand with a powerful stroke. "It's so nice to finally meet you Mr. Giles... I'm Chad, Chad Millers. Maybe you've heard of me?"

Giles was caught off guard. "Yes, yes, very nice to meet your acquaintance also... So, where is it I would have heard of you?... Feel free to call me Giles, all the other students do." he scampered.

"Buffy" Wesley said whipping his hands over his tweed gray suit pants" You are not to talk so freely about... You're Slaying duties..." He panted stepping forward to confront her.

"He is not a normal everyday person or anything though you see Wesley... You see, Chad is a Slayer."

"How DARE you play such a foul joke on us Buffy" Wesley stepped a final foot towards her and smacked her directly across her face. "What do you think we are? You're bloody well pawn? I think NOT."

Giles simply stepped forwards. "Wesley, Calm down. This is the Hellmouth after all. You of all people should know that. And don't you dare even think of Buffy as a liar, and NEVER indicate such an absurd thing. You hear me? And might I just add, if you EVER lay a finger on her again, you will not live to see the next day, do you catch me? She would never lie about such a think. A slayer none the less. She's the one who saves the world every night. Puts her own life on the line of everyone else."

"She IS lying, there are no male Slayers, and that is something you, Rupert Giles should know better than even I. Get yourself together. You're little Slayer is not all of what you think of her." Wesley put in snidely.

Giles stepped forward briskly. He slapped him across his face and sent him spinning across the room. He remembered his days that he had been known as the ripper. he felt a wave of guilt go through him, but he pushed it aside.

"Don't you dare say that" His eyes narrowed as he angled in on Wesley.

Wesley needed some smarts shoved into that British brain of his. "As I have said more than once before, this is the Hellmouth." Buffy stepped back a taken back by Giles voice. "Anything can happen. And you, you are nothing but a chicken, and a pawn to your very own game when it comes down to the midst of it. You are nothing lower that a piece of scum. We put up with you out of the niceness in our hearts. I gave you my position as the Watcher. Bringing that up, don't you think I would know better than you, I have been Watcher many, many more years than you have. Have you got that?" Giles asked, becoming afraid of himself.

"Fine." Wesley said massaging his cheek carefully. He held a Kleenex up to his nose which was evidently bleeding. "Now, please very well explain yourselves."

Buffy felt the funny urge to laugh, yet she kept her mouth closed knowing it was the wrong time to do so. She held it back, not knowing what kind of damage it could do if it bubbled out.

"This" She said pointing to Chad who had taken a step out of the spot light and had sat down in one of the chairs "Is Chad Millers." She began explaining with as much accuracy as she could of the past few days dreams. The past night, and her chat with Angel. "... So meet the newest Slayer in our little Slayfest group." A bell rung in the hallway. The warning bell to warn you you had 5 minutes to get to you're T.A.

Buffy jumped up at the sound of it. "Keep talking to Chad... He wants to work here by the way. I'll be back on my Lunch break, and if I have a free. " She said looking down at her old and rumpled clothes. " I need to change too before I go to class... And shower. Giles... Tell my T.A. I'm doing an errand for you and I'll be in soon, will you?" She asked running out the door without waiting for a response.

Part 4

She only noticed as she was getting her change of clothes for the shower that she hadn't seen Willow at all in the Library before School started. Or Oz. She'd seen Xander at his locker like usual, Cordelia had pooped in her head to see Wesley and drool over him, but seeing them all in big discussion, she ducked back out not wanting to get into anything deep. But WHERE where Willow and Oz? They where no show so far. She began to worry as she pulled a brush through her hair to get out all of the tangles.

"Should I call her? No... I'll wait for a little while yet. I'll probably see her in computer class anyway. I'm sure of it." She walked back to her locker to get out of her dirty clothes, she dropped her pants and stepped out of them. If she hurried she could still make it before the end of T.A. The bell rung. Damn it, no way anymore. She had just missed T.A. Her shower took longer than she thought it would. I'll call her later than she thought.

Now she'd have to go to the office to get a late slip when she got out of here... And they would probably knew she'd been in the shower... No. Wait. Giles, he was good at that. The plus side was if her mom found out, she wouldn't get mad. That was a definite plus side.

Maybe she should have just waited for that shower... She put on a pair of pants from her locker in a hurry not carrying what she wore, and ran out the door and made her way to the office.

"I was talking to Mr. Giles... I was aiding him darn it! Why don't you just ask him over the intercom or something? He asked me to do a favor for him ok? Look, can I just get a late slip? I have to get to my biology class before my test starts. Please?.. Come on!!!" She felt like having a tantrum.

She was a girl who had gotten barely any sleep that night, Almost none. The sleep she had had was troubled with her dreams of Chad and being strangled. She just wanted the day to go uneventful. She was starved to, she hadn't had any breakfast either. Her stomach was rumbling at her to be given food. 'Food' it tried to order her, 'Give me food.'

"Fine, whatever, I'm tired of fighting with everyone every single morning, just take it up with Pr. Snyder. I'm not responsible if you get in trouble though."

"What else am I suppose to do? I just want to get to class. I do indeed have a test." Finally the secretary gave up, She gave her a written excuse and sent her off to class. Buffy felt she had the power to do anything. After of course she slept and ate something.

But first, Bio. class. She had a huge test, and she had actually looked over her notes while she had been Slaying. Willow had helped her out, and she was quite confident about it. She ran down the long corridor, shoes echoing as she reached her class. She wasn't even out of breath, she silently opened the door and went to her desk without being noticed.                                                 *       ~       *       ~       *       ~       * :))
