Dreams Come True

`Please don't leave me Jo.' Joey stopped as he slowly walked up behind her. `Please, just listen to me and then you can go if you want.'
She turned to look into those blue eyes that she loved so much `Ok Dawson. I'll listenbut I'm not promising that I'll stay.'
Dawson looked at the girl that hehad grown up and shared everything with but now couldn't find the words to say what was in his heart. `Joey, I...God how do I start?'
She smiled toherself as she looked at the boy who usually knew just what to say or atleast acted like he did. Now he was standing before her, agitated and completely speechless.`Well, I never thought I would see the day thatDawson Leery ran out of words to say. Look, I have things to do. Pacey is taking me to see something he found on the beach so I have to get ready.'
As she moved to pass him he caught her arm and said `Wait!! You haven't heard anything I've said yet.
'Angrily she said `Wait?? All I've ever done is wait!!!I'm tired of waiting for you to say the things I want you to say. Now just let me go. 'Dawson pulled her to him and said `I can't!! Don't you see?? I can't let you go, not now. 'Joey struggled to break free `Please, don't fight me. God, I never knew till now how much I really care about you. You aremybest friend and I can't live without you in my life. Please don't leave me. Not when I need you the most.'
It was only when he finished his speech that he noticed she was no longer fighting him but rather shaking in his arms. When he looked into her sorrowful browneyes,he realized she was crying. `Is that all I am to you Dawson. Your best friend?? Someone who will always be there?? Well, I'm tired of being the dependable one.' She said, then she whispered, `I can't keep loving you if your not ready to love me. Are you ready?? '
Dawson looked into her beautiful face and once again was at a loss for words. She loves me. That fact alone blew him away. What do I say? Is there anything to say?? Joey smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, `I didn't think so.'
As she turned to leave again, she felt Dawson grab her by her waist and turn her around. Before she could say anything she was crushed against his chest and he was kissing her with such passion and tenderness that she thought she was dreaming. When he finally lifted his head he said, `Don't you know how much I love you. You were always the one I loved the most. I just didn't think you wanted me. God, I love you Joey. I LOVE YOU!!' These last three words were screamed in the air as though he wanted the whole world to know.
Stunned at this sudden change of events she said, `You love me?? Why didn't you ever tell me?'
Dawson smiled,` I was too afraid that you wouldn't feel the same and I would lose our friendship. I couldn't risk that.
'He was kissing her again and holding her so tightly she could hardly breathe. `You're not going to Paris are you?? Please don't leave me, not after all we've been through.' he said as he looked into her face.
`Let's not think about the future, let's just concentrate on this moment, right now.' she whispered.With those words they fell on the bed and got lost in each others arms. As Dawson traced kisses down her neck, Joey sighed and thought, `Well, I guess dreams really do come true.'
