 Summary
This original series follows the experiences of Mel when she tries out for a role on Dawson's Creek. Josh falls for her, leading to complications among the entire cast. This is different from any fanfic you've ever read!

Hobbies/Interests: Dawson's Creek (obviously), swimming, reading,
sleeping, debate, photography, talking to my friends on the internet
(especially the Magnificent 7), my favorite movie is Titanic for reasons
that i'm not going to go into, my fave song is "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain
for reasons that may be obvious to some, but not so obvious to others
Favorite character and why: Pacey, he is the classic comic relief and
gets all the best lines on the show. Plus, he isn't afraid to show that he
is human and makes many of the mistakes that normal teenagers make.
Granted, most of us don't sleep with our English teachers, but you get the
idea!
Character you most identify with and why: Joey, I'm like her in many
ways. First, is my highly extensive vocabulary. Second, I look somewhat
like her. Third, her storyline with Dawson (best friends who fall in love)
is similar to me and my boyfriend. We sometimes even refer to ourselves as
Dawson and Joey and have experienced many of the things that they have.
Favorite possible storyline: As a fanfic writer, it's hard to think of a
storyline that hasn't been done!! But, I think it would either have to be
Senior Prom or the 4 of them going to DisneyWorld. Don't ask me why!
Why did you write this series? What did you hope to accomplish? Lisa
and I wrote this series for 2 reasons. First, we wanted to make a gift for
one of our best friends, Mel. She is so boy crazy and never stops talking
about how cute Josh is and how she would die if she ever met him, so we
thought of a way to incorporate that into a fanfic. Second, lately all the
fanfics seem to be about the exact same plotline. Ours was different, it
revolved around the actors, not the characters. We hoped that we could
give people faith in miracles (meeting your idol and having him/her fall
for you) and that we could show an inside glimpse into the
behind-the-scenes world of Dawson's Creek (all of which is completely
accurate, except for the relationships amongst the actors, we don't know
about that!)
Thoughts on:
James -- I think he is an adorable guy, very smart and talented and reminds
me so much of my boyfriend it isn't even funny!!
Katie -- She is a
beautiful woman who portrays the classic all-American girl. She possesses
qualities that are very rare in Hollywood today (sorry to rip off the quote
from Rolling Stone), she has modesty, empathy and honesty. I greatly
admire her, for being a true person in a world full of imitations.
Michelle -- I think she has great strength. She stands up to everyone
thinking she is just like Jen, and has become wise and mature for just
being 17.
Josh -- He is so gorgeous. I first recognized his talent and cuteness as
Charlie Conway in the first Mighty Ducks movie. As he grew, he got even
cuter. I love his sense of humor and off-the-wall personality and he always
makes me smile.
Kevin -- one word: wow. When I first saw Scream, I recognized a style of
writing that was unique and creative. Then came I Know What You Did Last
Summer and Scream 2, they also possessed that quality. And then, came
Dawson's Creek. The brain child of Kevin Williamson, so realistic and
impecabbly written, he demonstrates more talent in one thought than most do
in their whole mind.
Thoughts on:
Dawson -- I love his character mostly because of his idealism. I tend to be
slightly idealistic and always imagine the world as a perfect place. I also
am a major movie freak (not quite as bad as him though) so I love his
position in both the story and life.
Joey -- She has gone through so much in
such a short period of time that she has developed a tough skin and a
realistic view on life. This makes her the perfect compliment to the
idealistic Dawson. I love how she isn't afraid to say things to people, no
matter how much it may hurt. And her love for Dawson is so pure and
innocent, it has to be respected and admired. I know that i'm not that
patient!
Pacey -- I just love his character. Plain and simple. Pacey is a good
friend underneath his witty, sarcastic exterior and has so much chemistry
with Joey when they are exchanging insults that it's incredible! I'm glad
that they are going to develop his character and his family life more this
season and we will get to see more of the Pacey Witter that we all know and
love.
Jen -- While most people view Jen as the classic b*tch who is just there to
cause conflict between the happy couple, I see her as more than that. I
respect her mistakes and her courage to get past them and to change. Of
course, I still hate the way she tries to come between Dawson and Joey, but
she isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be.
Thoughts on this award: I know for a fact that I wouldn't have won this
award without Lisa. Our writing styles are so different, but compliment
each other so well that we are able to develop the brilliant plot lines (my
specialty) and extensive elaboration and attention to detail (Lisa's
specialty) that made this story what it is.
Thank yous: Ready for this one?? First, to the Magnificent 7. We are 7 of the best
friends in the world. 7 people who have never met, never spoken to each
other, but bonded first through a love of DC and expanded that to just
being really good friends. I have to thank the other 6 of them (there is
no point in thanking myself) So, Jenn-thanks for being sane and logical
and putting up with my crazy ideas and thoughts. John- thanks for being the
different voice amongst us. You are our only guy, and the only one who
likes Jen/Michelle!, Mandi- thanks for all the inside info about Josh's
favorite things (banana floats, hotwiring the car, X-files, etc.) and, for
proofreading our script and helping with it., Ro- thanks for all the late
nights and comforting moments. You are one of my best friends and we have
been through a lot together. Thanks for always being there. Mel- without
you, I wouldn't have a reason to write this story! Thanks for being my
fellow "bad chickee" and for understanding my crazy ideas! Lisa- thanks
for putting up with me when I tried to rush through the story without
paying attention to the details. You are an incredible friend and a
terrific writer.
I also have to thank my family. They are the ones who allow me to be on the
internet 24 hours a day, and don't care how obsessed I am with this show.
Also, to the fans. Thanks for reading this story, for voting for it, and
for all the positive feedback! Without you, I wouldn't have a reason to
write fanfic. K, I think that's it. If I left anyone out, I'm sorry. I

Anything else? Hmm, after this novel that i've just written, what else can I say? I
love Dawson's Creek? Magnificent 7 Rocks? Oh yeah, RLT CLASS OF 2000 kicks

Readers' Thoughts
Mel and Josh Chronicles, if you'll accept votes for it. It's fun. Everybody
always fantasizes about the person as if the character were his/her
personality. This story isn't written this way. I especially like the
section that where Josh and James were discussing how dating the person
playing a relative is like incest. It shows how we the audience percieve
things, but also how the actors get wrapped up in their characters.

This one's especially interesting because Alison and Lisa insert their
friend into a fictional world with the actors, not their characters.
