Erin
Winner, August Award for Best Love Triangle Fanfic
 Summary
A fabulous series that explores the changing relationships among the gang after Joey goes to France. It offers a poignant glance into Pacey's home life as well as insight into the feelings between Pacey, Joey, and Dawson.

Interview
Name: Erin Ashby
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Email: SpookMuldy@aol.com
Home State or Town: Ca
Hobbies/Interests: Bookworm extrordinaire, movie buff, Sunday school teacher,
writer of comedy and (duh) DC and X-files fanfic
Favorite character and why: I'd have to go with Pacey which is why my fanfic
usually centers around him. He's a realistic character because of the way he
appears to run on hormones, he's funny but sometimes he does something
completly idiotic (see: The Breakfast Club). And though he seems like a doof
every once in a while he does something truly noble, like tipping the prison
guard for Joey. My big hope for Pacey is that we see him in more depth this
season, especcially his family life which I think everyone is interested in.
Character you most identify with and why: It's hard for me to identify with
any of them just because they are all gorgeous, nicely shaped people. But I
guess Joey, the Joey that doesn't have Dawson yet, because I often end up
being "good ole Erin", just another friend type of thing. And I'm funny like
she is but alot more cheerful. (Usually :-P)
I do wish I had Joey's grades.
Favorite possible storyline: Miss Jacobs comes back with a little baby Witter
and Pacey declares his passionate love for Joey somehow by accident (that
second part is coming up in my fanfic by the way)
Why did you write this series? What did you hope to accomplish? Just to tell a story of how I think these characters would deal with these
particular situations. Plus it's fun to have people reading your stuff. ;-D
Thoughts on:
James -- I think James does well as Dawson, definitly he's got that
dreamy-lost boy look down pat.
Katie -- I like Katie, she's truly mastered the insecure-sarcastic-best friend with a
crush thing. I think her acting is going to develop, I mean all of these
actors are young and they aren't perfect.
Michelle -- I feel sorry for Michelle, I think she's gotten a bad rap. Her role as Jen is
totally crucial, at least right now, for the plot of the show and it's an
interesting one. Dawson gets to be the dreamy idealistic one, Pacey and Joey
both get funny, sarcastic lines and Jen is sort of left out and doesn't get
very many funny lines, it's not her fault. The other characters are naturally
more likable. Anyway, I think she does well as Jen, my only complaint is one
I have for a lot of actors and it's really miniscule. It's the pretend-
stuttering thing, I don't know if stuttering's the right thing but when a
character is making a point or doesn't quite know what to say the actor often
does this fake-excitable stuttering thing. I'm not sure how to describe but
it's really annoying. Michelle does it alot, it's OKAY, she's a young
actress. I'm not pickin' on her.
Josh -- As far as Josh it's a little bit easy for me to critique him as an actor since
I've seen him in other rolls. Well, really only one, I saw the Mighty Duck
movies. I think he's a pretty good actor, probably the best one of the four.
I also happen to love the Joshua Jackson Swagger (watch the way he walks down
the street on DC, it's a bonified "mosey") And I hope the writers utilize his
talents on the show.
Kevin -- ...well, I don't know much about the guy but I sure like his show.
Dawson's Creek can be as corny as heck, (c'mon, admit it) but it's also funny,
entertaining and I'm a big ole sucker for romance.
Thoughts on:
Dawson -- Okay, I read ALOT but I don't use ten-letter words on a regular
basis. Where the heck did that boy get that vocabulary? It wasn't from
Speilburg movies. I really like Dawson but he did dis "Gahndi" in the pilot
and any enemy of Ben Kingsley is a potential enemy of mine.
Joey -- This girl's had a hard-knock life but I still think she needs to
majorly lighten up, although maybe she will this season, I mean she's got
dream-boy, what's she got to complain about? I like her because she's honest
and assertive. Anyone that can slug a jerky-jock with such style is okay in
my book.
Pacey -- Can't condone his relationship with Tamara but I do feel for the guy.
What I really want to see is his homelife, like I said before, and hopefully
we'll be seeing something about it this season
Jen -- I know she's an athiest and I respect her beliefs too but just make your
poor old grandmother happy and go to church ONE time. You don't have to pray,
you don't have to sing, just sit there for one stupid hour, just ONCE, maybe
she'll stop bugging you.
Thoughts on this award: Big ole ego-boost, I'm happy as a clam. I"m just
glad people like it.
Thank yous: Kilby kind of inspired me to write this whole series, I loooooove hers and she
knows it. I like flinging those e-mails back and forth, it's fun. And thanks
to all those people who send me little notes saying they like it, it
encourages me to finish the darn thing.
Anything else? This is long enough, isn't it??? :-D

Readers' Thoughts
SpookMuldy. I love the end of Part 5. It also explains the difficulty
between Pacey and his father in an honest, believable fashion. -Brande
Kiss the Rain by SpookMuldy. Finally a series that takes a closer look at
Pacey's family life. The conflict between Doug and Mr. Witter does a lot
to improve the likability (is that a word?) of Doug's character. Also, the
hint of romance to come between Pacey and Joey is very tantalizing.
-Cathleen
Kiss the Rain sereis by SpookMuldy b/c I like the way she portrays her
