Kilby
Winner, July Award for Best Love Triangle Fanfic
 Summary
"Moving" focuses on the changing relationship between Pacey and Joey. Their original plan is to fool Dawson into thinking that they are dating in order to make him jealous. There's a twist, though: They end up falling in love, but can't admit it. This epic also includes a car accident, HIV, interracial dating, and other deep topics. This is a well-loved series among readers, even Dawson/Joey fans, and should not be missed

Interview
Name: Kilby
Age: 20 (almost)
Sex: Female
Email: dawnblades@prodigy.net
Home page URL: My Wojo Page
Home State or Town: I live in lower Delaware (I'd say the city, but no
one would know where it is.)
Hobbies/Interests: I love Duke Basketball. It's a major part of my
life. I watch too much tv, and am too interested in the stories. I'm sure
there are more things, but I can't think of them.
Favorite character and why: Pacey. He has incredible depth, is a true
friend, and has had a tough life. There are just so many sides to Pacey.
Who couldn't love him? He is hiliarious.
Character you most identify with and why: There are probably parts of
each character that I identify with, but none of them really remind me of
myself or the people that I went to High School with. I do live in a town
that's a lot like Capeside though.
Favorite possible storyline: Of my own, my favorite storyline is Jen's
HIV story. Although I may have dropped the ball on it a little, I'm really
proud of it. Until about five months ago, I was completly ignorant about
HIV and AIDS. In my Death and Dying class, a speaker came who was living
with AIDS (I based Mya on the speaker), and she completely changed my
outlook on AIDS. She is the first and only person that I have met with
AIDS/HIV, and she is truly courageous. There are so many things I didn't
know about AIDS, and I thought that because I had quite a good following
with my series it was the perfect place for me to inform while I tried to
entertain. I also think that dealing with racism is an important issue as
well. Hopefully, I can bring justice to that storyline as well.
Why did you write this series? What did you hope to accomplish? I was
reading these stories on the web, and thought 'I can do this,' so I
started, and it has just really grown. It's a good way for me to keep
writing, because before I began the series I was suffering from horrible
writer's block. I just wanted to keep writing, and to have some people
enjoy what I was doing. Hopefully, I've also taught each person that's
read the series one small thing, about themselves or about someone else.
Thoughts on:
James -- He's good as Dawson. I'd imagine that he probably is Dawson in
real life.
Katie -- Boy do the guys love her. I think she does an excellent job
portraying Joey.
Michelle -- Everybody, just give this girl a break. She does a good job
as Jen, and she wouldn't be there if she didn't. I feel kinda bad for her,
because she doesn't seem to have a following like the others. Some of you
Jen/Michelle lovers, make this girl a web page!
Josh -- I love this guy. He seems so level headed and grounded, not to
mention intelligent. He even has pretty feet! I feel a little frustrated
for him, because it seems as though he gets the least media attention of
the four.
Kevin -- DC is a really good show, and to create the characters that
he created, and to give them the depth that he did is just amazing. Scary
movies aren't my thing, but he definately did something right with this
series, and I think that accomplishment in itself is wonderful.
Thoughts on:
Dawson -- I don't get Dawson, and probably like him the least. Dawson is
the most stable person (i.e. his family life), but yet percieves himself to
have so many problems. If find it interesting how he is the most different
from the other three characters, but yet, he seems to be the one that holds
them together.
Joey -- I see someone I know in Joey, and although she is so abrasive,
she seems good hearted. I know it's about who she is, but it would be nice
to see her more optimistic. That is, to see how lucky she is to have what
she has, and not be so caught up in crap that she's gotten in life
(although it was more than her fair share). She is, however, the one thing
that we need on television. She is strong woman, even in spite of her
obvious attachment to Dawson.
Pacey -- Pacey is so complicated, and that's because he has so many
dimensions. It's so interesting to see his different sides. He is one of
the most interesting people on the show.
Jen -- She gets a bad rap. How many of us know what we wanted at fifteen?
I'm twenty and still don't know. We know the least about Jen and her
life, and need to remember that she was socialized completely different
than Joey, Pacey, and Dawson. In my overdrawn analysis, I suspect her
parents are one piece of work, and I could see why she is the way that she
is. It's just TV, don't be so tough on her.
Thoughts on this award: I feel really honored that so many people like
what I'm doing. I can't get over the response that I have gotten, and you
guys have definately helped me to raise my otherwise low self esteem. I'm
really glad that so many people enjoy the series, and I am so thankful for
the wonderful people that I've met because of this. Keep those letters
coming! I want to know how I'm doing! I feel so honored that I was
choosen as one of the best, but I must acknowledge that I think there are
some stories that are better than my own. Everybody who has written a fan
fic deserves props, because we all enjoy what they're doing.
Thank yous: Thanks be to
God, who has obviously blessed me. Thanks to my Mom, for taking care of
me, and never letting me say can't. Thanks to Madam Fewell for helping me
realize that I can write, maybe not the best, but that I can. And for the
sympathetic ear that you always lend. Lisa, thanks for always putting up
with my crazy ramblings, and getting the stories up in the first place. I
could never repay you for all the critiqueing and advice that you've given
me. Anita, thanks for always telling me the truth (no matter how good it
is). Thanks to everyone who puts my stories up elsewhere, and to everyone
who sends me feedback. You guys are the reason that I keep doing this, and
I love hearing from you all. I can't say enough how thankful I am for what
I have, and I feel truly honored to be choosen for this award.
Anything else? I don't think so.

I love how at first Pacey and Joey were only going to get Dawson jealous. Then they started liking each other more. And the accident brought them closer together. It was great. - Lisa
Moving by Kilby and all it's following parts. This story actually had me rooting for Pacey to get the girl. I love that their actions have consequences and Kilby really knows the characters.
Definately one of the very select best pieces of fic thus far. - LiZa
There is no doubt in my mind that this is one of the greatest fan fic series there is.
It is just amazing. Kilby has incredibly writing ability and loads of talent! Her stories have a great concept, plotline, conversations, the language used is exactly identical to the actual show and well just read it and you'll see what I mean!
The plotline for the series is fantastic! So dramatic and realistic, it just keeps you in suspense wondering what's going to happen next! I love it. She should take up writing the scripts for the real tv show! - Anita
The reason why I like this story is because Joey realizes her feelings for Pacey more clearly. - Mandy
Just extraordinarily written! Alison Porter jporter2@airmail.net
Absolutly great characterization and insight into Pacey, I'm always checking back here to get to
the next part. - Erin
I liked this category b/c it was strongly written and the way she portrays the characters is wonderful. - Bobbie-Jo
Her stories were all really realistic. I love the fact that she is bringing Pacey and Joey together. His poem to her really touched my heart. I also thought it was pretty brave of her to put in an HIV story for Jen. It was also daring to bring an inter-racial story into the mix no one else has done that. I loved it!! - Miriam Rene
I love the whole series, but especially this one because Joey tells Dawson that she and Pacey slept together, and the whole conflict that arises from that. - Cathleen
I think this may be the greatest series I've ever read. It was fantastic! And the best part is is that there is going to be more...At least I hope there will be! - Ashley
