The Girl in the Leather Jacket by Katy
Part One in the Series

Disclaimers: I don't own Dawson's Creek, never have never will. It belongs to Kevin Williamson, Columbia Tristar, and the WB. I don't own any characters except Vanessa.

Setting: Anytime before Joey and Dawson kissed.

"Dawson, man, please!" Pacey begged, grabbing onto Dawson's shirt collar.
"Pacey! No!," Dawson said, attempting to relieve his shirt of Pacey's vise-like grip. "I refuse to let you use my camera. God knows what you'd use it for."
"Come on man, don't worry, I'm not going to use it to make porno flicks. I need it for my English project. We have to do a multimedia presentation that depicts our life story."
Dawson laughed, "I don't think there is much of a story to tell about your life Pacey. What could be construed as a story would probably be banned from school."
"Come on man," Pacey said, desperate, "Don't make me beg. If you're nice, I'll put something in there about you."
Dawson sighed. "Fine," he said, "However! If there is so much as a scratch on my camera when you return it, you will buy me a new one."
"Deal," Pacey said, shaking Dawson's hand, "Thanks man, you won't regret this."
As Pacey walked off, Dawson sighed and said, "I already do."

"Come on Joey, smile for the camera," Pacey said, shoving it in Joey's scowling face.
"Pacey!" Joey said, getting annoyed, "I have to work. It's a concept that you have yet to grasp."
"I work," Pacey said defensively, "It's hard controlling the girls when I come in a room."
"Yeah," Joey said, "They're trying to get away from you so fast, it's practically a stampede."
Determined to get her riled, Pacey kept the camera trained on Joey's face and said, "Come on Joey, tell us all about your little infatuation with our friend Dawson."
"Bite me Pacey. There is nothing between me and Dawson except friendship.," Joey insisted, even though both she and Pacey knew it was a lie.
"Whatever Joey. Inquiring minds want to know!" he called after her as she stormed away to table six. Pacey laughed to himself and turned ins camera in the direction of the street. A beautiful brunette in a leather jacket filled the camera screen. Shooting up from the camera, Pacey looked across the street and saw a beautiful girl smiling at him. She had long amber waves and was dressed in a white tank, black leather pants, black half-boots and a leather jacket. Pushing up her sunglasses, she hopped on her motorcycle and rode away. Watching her ride away, Pacey could only wonder "Who is that girl?"

Jen was on her way to te post office when she over heard a girl yelling.
"You stupid piece of junk!" the voice yelled. Jen turned and saw a girl in a leather jacket kicking a motorcycle.
"Can I help you?" Jen asked, walking up to the frustrated girl. The girl sighed and looked at Jen.
"Not unless you can get this hunk of junk started. I swear, I should trade this thing in, it always does this!."
Jen laughed. "Let me try," she said. Jen walked over to the machine, and after playing around with it for a moment, the motorcycle sprang to life.
"How did you do that?" the girl asked, slightly amazed that Jen was able to start it.
"I had a friend in New York who had one," Jen explained, "he used to let me ride on it when we went out in the countryside. He kind of showed me the ropes."
"That's so fab!" the girl explained, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself. I'm Vanessa Ryder."
Jen shook Vanessa's hand, "Jen Lindley. It's nice to meet you Vanessa. Did you just move here?"
"Yeah," Vanessa said, smiling, "I don't really know anyone. I'm kind of the new girl."
"I know the feeling," Jen said, with a wry smile, "Are you going to be going to be going to Capeside High?" The girl's face darkened somewhat, as if remembering a painful memory.
"No," she said softly, "I don't go to high school. I graduated. I'm just here to start a new life."
"Oh," Jen said, curious as to why this girl closed up suddenly, "Well, I have to go drop this letter off. Why don't we meet down at the Ice House in a couple hours? I'll introduce you to some of my friends. You'll get to meet Joey, she works there, and I'll attempt to round up Pacey and Dawson. The Ice House is down by the pier. Is two hours ok?"
"Sounds great" Vanessa said, thankful that she had a new friend, and thankful that Jen hadn't questioned her anymore.

"I'm telling you man, this girl wanted me," Pacey said to Dawson, as Dawson picked up his room.
"Right Pacey," Dawson said, laughing at his friend, "Just because some random girl smiled at you, she automatically wants to have sex with you."
"Yep, I'm that irresistable," Pacey said, flashing his trademark grin, "but man, was this girl hot! She had on this killer leather jacket and rode a motorcycle. A motorcycle!"
"Man Pacey, you have weird taste in women," Dawson said, "From your English teacher to some biker chick. Boy, you have to figure out what you want."
"And look who's talking, my oblivious friend," Pacey said, "You can't decide between Jen and Joey."
"Please Pacey," Dawson said, "Joey is just my friend. I have no feelings for her whatsoever and she knows that."
"Well, you could have fooled me and everyone else," Pacey said, "You're so totally in love with her and you don't even realize it! Even Joey realizes that she has a 'thang' for you. Granted she refuses to admit it, but she knows it's there."
"You don't know what you're talking about Pacey," Dawson said, shaking the thoughts away. The conversation was interrupted by Jen climbing through the window.
"Hey Dawson, Pacey, I'm glad you two are here. I need a favor," Jen said.
"Sure, anything for you Jen," Dawson said, smiling. Pacey just rolled his eyes at Dawson.
"I need you guys to be at the Ice House in an hour," Jen explained, "You'll find out why when you get there."
"I'll be there," Dawson said, still smiling.
"Sure Jen" Pacey said, cutting in, "Count me in. I'm always up for a surprise. Let me guess, you and Joey have finally realized your attraction to the Paceman and you are celebrating with Crisco and whipped cream?"
Jen rolled her eyes at Pacey. "Right Pacey," she said, sarcastically, "Keep dreaming." Pacey winked at Jen as she exited the window. "I'll bring the handcuffs," he called after her, as Dawson whacked him with a pillow.

Joey, Pacey, and Dawson all took a seat at their table at the Ice House.
"Jen better hurry up," Joey said, looking at her watch, "I only have a few minutes, and Bessie will shoot me if I take too long of a break."
Suddenly, Jen walked up. "Great you guys are here, I want ya'll to meet someone." Vanessa walked up, clad in her leather jacket. "Guys," Jen continued, "This is Vanessa..."
