*AUTHORS NOTE* This story takes place after "Breaking Away." But the kiss never took place and she didn't get to go to France.

"Come on, Bess. Do we have to go?" It was Joey's second week of winter break and she wanted to stay around Capeside, even though she hated the place. OK. She wanted to stay around Dawson.

"Yes, Joey. I want you too. We hardly take trips anywhere together. I thought it would be fun." Bessie replied.

"But why New York?" Joey asked, not wanting to go to Jen's old state.

"I thought I told you. We are going to finish signing papers to close the deal about opening Bodie's restaurant." Bessie said.

"Oh, in that case when are we leaving?"

"Thank you again." Bodie said shaking his hand.

"No thank you. This is a great restaurant idea. This idea in a small town works great. But what are you doing tonight to celebrate New Year's?" His lawyer asked.

"Nothing as of right now." Bodie replied.

"How would you and the family come to my party? A midsize event." He asked

"Sure. Bessie would love too. Are there going to be any teens? Because her sister hates being around a lot of adults."

"Yeah, a few. My son will be there. We could introduce them." The lawyer wrote down his address and handed it to Bodie. "Be there around eight."

"I'll be there."

"Joey, what else do you have planned?" Bodie asked upset that she turned down the offer.

"Nothing. But you know me and social events."

"I know. Come on. For me and your sister?" He gave her a puppy dog look.

"OK. I'll go. You also know I hate that look."

"Great be ready by seven-thirty."

"Hello. Thanks for coming." The lawyer said as he opened the door to his condo.

"Thanks for inviting us. This is Joey and Bessie." Bodie introduced them.

"Come in, look around, and feel free to anything on the food table." The lawyer took their jackets and went to talking to Bodie about the restaurant. Joey slipped away.

"Oh, excuse me." She said bumping into someone.

"It was my...Debra?" The guy said.

She looked up. "Anderson. Hi."

"What are you doing here?" He asked surprised.

"We came up here on business. Ummm we need to talk." Joey said.

"About what?" Anderson was confused.

"About me. I lied about who I was. My name is Josephine Potter. But call me Joey. I live in Capeside. I live with my sister and her boyfriend." She hated to do that, but she knew he needed to know the truth.

"I had a feeling you were lying." He said not surprised at all.

"Really?"

"Yeah the day in the restaurant. Everything that was happening with your friends and the employees, I kind of put it together." Anderson said.

"I'm sorry I lied to you but I was scared that you wouldn't like me." Joey said blushing a little.

"You didn't have to. I liked you from the start." He paused. "I know this is kind of sudden, but this party isn't a way to celebrate New Year's. Can I take you somewhere so we can?"

Joey was surprised. "Yeah that will be great."

They were sitting in one of his limos. Anderson didn't tell Joey where they were going, so Joey was eager to get there.

"Sir." The driver called to the back of the limo. "We are at your destination."

"Great. Thank you." Anderson said. "Are you ready, Joey?"

"Yeah." She took his hand and climbed out of the limo. She looked around. "Are we were I think I am?"

"Yeah the one and only, Time Square's New Year's Celebration. You like?" He asked her.

"Yeah. This is far better than anything they ever did at Capeside." Joey said.

"Everyone, everyone." This announcer said over the speakers. " It is 11:59."

Everyone turned to look at the ball they drop.

"OK." He said."10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1- HAPPY NEW YEAR!!" Everyone counted down, then went crazy cheering.

Anderson grabbed Joey in his arms. At that moment they both new what their New Year's resolution would be: To never let go of their love for each other.

"Happy New Year, Joey."

"Happy New Year, Anderson." He leaned down and kissed Joey.

Fireworks were going off in the back ground as they were creating their own fireworks.

*AUTHORS NOTE* I don't know if you count New Year's as a holiday. I do though for two reasons:
1) I'm out of school that day.
2) It is my birthday. No lie. 1-1-83
