"I think I speak for the majority here when I say, huh?" Buffy remarked. Buffy always had a way of making the most complicated things simple.
Kaleell looked at us as if she had forgotten that we were there. "There goes the cat out of the bag," she murmured.
"You haven't told them yet?" Whistler asked her. His tone implied that he thought that she should have told us about it -- whatever *it* was.
"I just got here!" Kaleell exclaimed indignantly. "I just found out that it was her! They don't even know that I know the blonde's the Slayer! What was I supposed to do?! Just come right out and tell her!"
"She couldn't have announced that just a little louder. I don't think they heard her in England," Buffy whispered to me. "Of course, all of England seems to know."
I grinned at Buffy's joke. All the people we had met from the Watcher's council so far, were indeed British.
"Oh," Whistler said looking down at his shoes. "I guess it's time to tell them then."

20 February 1999 (con't.)
I suggested that we meet with the Slayer's Watcher, and I would tell them there. He would be interested in what I had to say. The girls conceded and led me (and Whistler, since I made him come with me -- he deserved it) to the high school library. I was surprised to find that that was where the Slayer trained, but it quickly passed. The library of her school was perfect. Who would suspect that a high school librarian was a Watcher, and that the Slayer was there for anything more than research?
When we walked into the library, I found two Watchers there. Two? I knew that there were two Slayers but two Watchers? I was under the impression that there was only one. There was no mistaking these men for anything else. Their appearance and the way they carried themselves was a dead giveaway.
The Slayer instantly went to the side of the older man and the Savior followed her. There was who the girls were loyal to; their loyalties laid with the older Watcher. He was the one to deal with. He was the one that held the power. I introduced myself and proceeded to explain to him who I was and what I was doing there.
They all handled it well. I think they were used to dealing with strange things. Willow, the Savior, handled it...almost too well. I think she is in denial. That is to be expected. If I found out today that I was human (I'm way too old to be human, but if for figurative purposes I was), I would deny it too.
I answered their questions as well as I could. I eventually conjured up one of Kaltiainen's interpretations of the prophesy. Even his words on paper, surpass my understanding of the text. Prophesy is not my forte.
Eventually, Whistler informed them -- and me, as well -- to what he was doing on the Hellmouth. He warned them about some nasty demon that only could be killed with the Saber of Melkart. I, by good fortune, happen to know the Wiccan that has the saber. I offered my information and told them I would get it for them. I'm in possession of some texts that the Wiccan has been after for a long time. I was sure she would trade me.
I told them I would be back the next day and asked the Savior if I would be able to speak with her. She consented. I believe the girl is a lot stronger than she appeared at first. Anyone without incredible strength, probably would have crumbled under the knowledge that she had a destiny. Others, in like situations, had deteriorated in both body and spirit.
Whistler and I left. We ended up talking all the rest of the night and into the day. He warned me about all the bad things that had happened to these people here on the Hellmouth. All the pain and torment to the body and soul they had endured.
I felt so bad about adding to this child's suffering, but it is my duty, as it is hers. We have no choice in this.

Buffy and I instantly walked over to Giles side when we entered the library. Mr. Wesley Wyndham-Price was there too, but as usual, he was ignored.
"Are you the Watcher?" Kaleell asked Giles.
"Actually, I am..." Wesley began.
But Kaleell paid no attention to him, since Giles had nodded in response. He eyed her warily.
"Have you heard of the Enlightenment?" Kaleell asked gently.
Giles nodded, again.
"So you know of the prophecy -- about the Savior?"
Giles nodded, yet again. He hadn't taken his eyes off of her since she had entered the room. He wasn't used to people knowing that he was a Watcher.
"Good." Kaleell hesitated. "I am to be the Savior's trainer -- a Watcher of sorts."
"So you are a demon?" Giles asked. "As it is prophesied?"
Kaleell shrugged. "Not all demons are bad." She jerked her head toward Whistler. "Take Whistler here for example. He helped you all out previously."
"Whistler?" Giles asked. "Buffy, isn't he the one that told you how to stop Acathla?"
Buffy nodded.
Kaleell smiled. "Whistler's a good demon, like me. He helps out. I suppose, I should get back on track. The Savior gives out energy. She has not yet learned to control it. Demons, especially ones like Whistler and I, are extremely sensitive to that energy. The energy has allowed me to track the Savior to here, to the Hellmouth. In fact, it has led me to someone in this very room."
Giles looked at her with a mixture of shock and rejection. "Willow," he breathed softly.
"Willow what?!" I demanded. I feared that I already knew the answer. If not in my head, then in my soul, my essence.
Kaleell smiled at me gently. "Milady, you are the Savior." Both demons bobbed their heads at me respectfully.
Sighing heavily, I stumbled over to a chair. The Savior? What the hell was that? I'm no *Savior* of any sort.
"Explain, please?" Buffy asked as she came to my side. She laid a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"It is prophesied," Kaleell began, "that there is to be a girl -- a woman really -- with these remarkable powers. The woman is to become immortal..."
"The *Savior* as the woman is called, is to do exactly that," Whistler cut in. "She is to save the world when the period of Enlightenment comes."
"The Enlightenment?" I asked softly. I overwhelmed by what they were telling me... I could deny their words and have fits of panic later. I needed to know everything now.
"It is a time when humans find out about vampires, demons and the other such creatures that plague the night," Giles answered, giving me a look of concern.
"A friend of mine translated the prophecy into understandable English text," Kaleell told me. "Well, understandable to him. He's a wonderful interpreter of prophecy. Unfortunately it's only semi-understandable for the rest of us mere beings. Would you like a copy of it?"
I nodded. Kaleell held out one hand. With the other, she quickly drew lines in the air. The lines shimmered silver, briefly. They formed a rune that I recognized from one of my books. One of calling objects, I think.
A scroll appeared in Kaleell's hand. She handed it to me. I quickly scanned the text. It basically said the things I already knew but explained them a bit better.
"Two demons?" I asked after I finished reading. I handed the scroll back to Kaleell.
"Yes," Kaleell answered. "I am one of those demons."
"The other will probably be your -- oof," Whistler's last word was cut off by Kaleell's hand covering his mouth.
Kaleell hissed something in his ear but the rest of us couldn't hear it.
Silence lapsed over us thickly. It hung like an impenetrable cloud between us.
Finally Kaleell cleared her throat. "Whistler, why did you seek out the Slayer anyway?"
Whistler looked up from his feet. "Bad guy in town. Demon -- real nasty. The guy's over eight feet tall, has horns and secretes acid from his skin. He can't be killed very easily."
"And do you bear any good news?" Buffy asked.
"Angel. He just had to be stubborn and wouldn't deliver my message," Whistler mumbled. Looking at Buffy, he raised his voice. "The demon *can* be killed. You'll need the Saber of Melkart."
The two Watchers and Kaleell's heads shot up.
"The Saber of Melkart?" Wesley asked. "It's been lost for centuries."
"Oh great," Buffy mumbled. "We're screwed."
Kaleell shook her head. "It's not lost. It's been stolen and, um, kept safe, shall we say."
"You have it?" Giles asked.
Kaleell shook her head. "I know who does though. I can get it by tomorrow."
"Great," Buffy chirped. "You get it. I slay. Sunnydale will be safer. Any questions?"
Kaleell smiled and shook her head. "I'll bring the saber here tomorrow." She nodded toward me. "I would like to speak to you tomorrow too, if that is all right."
I nodded.
"Great," Kaleell replied to my nod. She grabbed Whistler's arm. "We'll see you tomorrow."
We all watched them silently disappear. As soon as they were out of sight, Buffy leaned down and enveloped me in a hug.
"The Hellmouth," she whispered in my ear. "What a wacky place that we live in."

19 March 1999
It has been over a month since I first arrived in Sunnydale. It has almost been a month since I have recorded the events that have taken place here. I've been extremely busy.
First of all, let me say that the Slayer defeated the demon with no problems. I have never seen a better fighter. Correction. I have never seen a fighter with more spirit. This girl radiates life. The radiance almost sickens me and I am not prone to the darkness that drives some demons.
I have met the Savior's other friends -- Xander and Cordelia. The boy is very annoying. I've had to restrain myself from causing him bodily harm several times. The girl Cordelia is very cold on the outside but I sense an underlying warmth in her. Willow often talks about some werewolf named Oz, but I have never met him. He moved shortly before I came here. The Savior still misses him but seems to be moving on.
I am now dividing my time between helping the Slayer and training the Savior. My peers might frown on this division of time, but I feel it is worthy. The Savior gets to help her friend while learning about the many different kinds of demons she might face. It will enhance her skills in the future.
The Savior is very intelligent. Her eyes sparkle with it. I am almost never able to stump her.
The girl has already begun the transformation to immortality as I expected. She heals faster than normal but not enough that the transformation is complete. Her strength is also enhanced slightly but does not match mine. It will probably be several more months before she could survive a bullet to the heart or beat me in combat.
I have also been training her in the magics. I find it hard to believe that the girl has had no formal training in the area. Her natural skill is amazing. She can do spells that it takes other beginners weeks to do. I know part of the reason I was sent here was because of my skill with the magics. I, myself, have been called a phenomenon, but I am sure the girl will eventually surpass me in power.
I must admit, I am scared of the day when she will reach her full potential. But after being around her for a month, I am sure the Goddess knew what she was doing. The girl is pure in spirit. Her goodness is in her bones. I f she had a mean streak in her... I don't want to think about it. The results would be disastrous. I don't think humanity would survive the Enlightenment.
Unfortunately, that might just happen anyway. No matter what we do, it may never be enough. All of this time might just be a waste. The apocalypse might happen and there will be nothing we'll be able to do.
Some days I think we are doomed.
