Dynamic actress Amanda Muggleton has been devastated by the death from a heroin overdose of her boyfriend two weeks ago.
Muggleton was finishing up the Melbourne season of the one-woman play The Book Club at the Playhouse two Sundays ago when she learned her lover had overdosed.
Proving herself to be a dedicated performer, Muggleton did not miss a performance of the Roger Hall play, fronting up immediately for the next session.
But now that the season has concluded, she is moving back to Sydney to recover from the loss.
A spokeswoman for the theatre company said the death had "hit Amanda hard".
"We've been told it was an overdose but we don't know if it was accidental or not," Bernadette Funnell said. "Amanda has been a trouper who remained the dedicated performer despite the tragedy".
