BRAVE PAULA BATTLES ON

Paula Duncan is determined not to let her father's recent death stop her from continuing her charity work.  "Dad wouldn't want that," Paula says.  "In his last few weeks of life, he was always telling me to get back to work!  He and Mum were the ones who taught me the importance of helping others."

Nevertheless, the loss of her father, Bob, just three years after the death of her mother, Rita, has hit Paula hard.  "I have been devastated about Dad dying," Paula says.  "I really haven't been myself."

But while the tragic loss naturally slowed her down, life is still hectic for Paula.  She is currently starring in the Ten Network drama series Breakers and working for one of several charities, including the Wesley Mission's Homeworld Home for Hope project, which raises money for the homeless.

"We're building a home at Kellyville in Sydney, which will be auctioned on  June 26.  It's been a lot of fun," Paula says.

And she has called on many of her acting colleagues to sponsor a room in  the house.
