(This scene picks up where the previous left off)
{At Lucky's place}
Lucky: “See, once my family settled in Port Charles and we didn't have to run or look over our shoulders, I stopped thinking about the future except as something that would show up someday. I mean, I knew -- I knew I’d eventually hit college, then the real world, but it was all too far away for me to wrap my head around. You know, it just -- it felt good to just chill. And when my future did cross my mind, it was always in some vague sort of way. I mean, I didn't know would be in it, who I’d want to share it with. And then you happened. You just went and changed everything, didn't even ask for my permission. And now all I think about is the future -- that's it -- with you right by my side, smiling that incredible smile. I want to be able to count on that. I know we're young, and believe me, I know that stuff happens that you don't except, but what I know even more is that there'll never be another girl for me no matter what. You're who I want to be with, ok? {He puts his hand up to her face} Can you say the same thing? Wait, wait, wait. I want more. Can you -- can you say the same and promise it forever?”
Lizzie: “Lucky, before I met you, I never felt as if I belonged anywhere. I was the exact opposite of you. I did think about my future. It was my only way out -- a place I could run to and forget about the lame today I’m stuck in. And, you know, the funny thing is that before last year, you were the one who was kicking back and living in the moment and just loving it, while I was focusing everything on escaping it. And now today, you're the one who's thinking about what's coming up ahead. And I, for the first time in my life, am so here because I don't want to miss anything. I don't want to take anything for granted. And, you know, the wild thing's that we balance each other out like that. Somehow we cover both ends of the spectrum. I don't know if this is making any sense.”
Lucky: “No, I know what you mean. I think it's called symbiotic, like we complete each other.”
Lizzie: “That's exactly it. You finish me. I can't imagine my life without you in it. I don't know who I’d be without the other half of me that's you. {Lucky has tears in his eyes} So I guess what I’m trying to say is, yes, I feel the same way. And I’m giving you my promise to be with you forever. And the day after that, if it's possible.” {They kiss}
Lucky: {Looking around the apartment as Lizzie cleans up their dinner} “Well, we definitely need a better apartment. That's what I think. And definitely a bigger bathroom.”
Lizzie: “What, with no purple tile?”
Lucky: “I have a feeling I’m going to be hearing about that purple tile the rest of my life. Now, listen, I think it'd be nice for you to have some space to leave your girlie things, you know, like those hair-clips you like to wear -- just for those occasions where you transform yourself into an earthbound goddess, still look at me like I’m the only guy in the world.”
Lizzie: “You are the only guy in the world.”
Lucky: “Anyway, after I saw the catalog for the art school in New York, I got on the internet because I wanted to check a couple of web sites to get an idea how much apartments are in Manhattan. I was -- I was thinking Greenwich Village.”
Lizzie: “Hmm. Greenwich Village. I like that.”
Lucky: “Has a nice ring to it, huh?”
Lizzie: “Mm-hmm.”
Lucky: “Well, I mean, art school, good place to live, fancy pens. That could all start adding up. That's why I’m thinking -- savings account.”
Lizzie: “Yeah, but, Lucky, you know I’d be just as happy at P.C.U. if you were there.”
Lucky: “Either way, we're going to need a financial stake.”
Lizzie: “If Gram only knew how sensible you really were.”
Lucky: “What did you call me? ‘Sensible’?”
Lizzie: “Well –“
Lucky:
“I’ll show you sensible.” {He starts tickling her, and chases her around
the bed}
Lizzie:
{Laughing} “No, Lucky -- Lucky, stop.”
Lucky: “I’m not sensible.”
Lizzie: “Ok, ok, ok, ok.”
Lucky: “Take it back. Take it back.”
Lizzie: “Ok, you're reckless and irresponsible.”
Lucky: “That's good.”
Lizzie: “And you're a role model for the disenfranchised, shiftless teenagers everywhere, ok?”
Lucky: “That's much better. Thank you.”
Lizzie:
“Come here.” {They kiss and Lizzie begins tickling him}
Lucky:
“Ow! That was a trick.”
Lizzie: “Oh, what happened? What's the matter?”
Lucky:
“Ambush!”
Lizzie: “Ow. Ok, ok, ok.”
Lucky: “Ok.”
Lizzie: “This has been the best night of my life so far -- again. I keep thinking, can't get any better, and you just top it.”
Lucky: “Guess you'd better get used to that, huh? It's time to walk you home. Elizabeth? One day you won't ever have to leave.” {They kiss}
Lizzie: {Smiling} “One day.” {They hug}
