Lucky, Luke, Nikolas and Lizzie:
Some Rinky-Dink Detail
scene

{At the hospital, Luke and Stefan are having words. Nikolas walks over to Lucky who is sitting apart from them}

Nikolas:  “Liz here seeing her grandmother? You look like you're waiting for somebody.”

Lucky:  “You look like you'd rather have your teeth pulled without Novocain than walk back into that.”

Nikolas:  “Yeah. How'd you guess?”

Lucky:  “So would I.”

Lucky:  “So what's going on? A long story?”

Nikolas:  “No.”

Lucky:  “Well, a short, predictable story?”

Nikolas:  “Pretty much.”

Lucky:  “Does it fall under the heading of ‘gotcha’?”

Nikolas:  “What else? Anyway, so what are you and Liz doing for Valentine's Day?”

Lucky:  “Well, I haven't told Elizabeth yet.”

Nikolas:  “Come on. You kept my secret. I can keep yours.”

Lucky:  “Oh, no. I mean, this isn't some rinky-dink detail like who your father is. This is big.” {Nikolas laughs}

Luke:  {Coming over to him} “Hey. What's tan and blue and red?”

Lucky:  “A Boy Scout in a blender.”

Luke:  “That's right. What is the Boy Scout motto?”

Lucky:  “Do you live here now? Are you taking a bed from a sick person, or are you considered a sick person?”

Luke: " ‘Be prepared,’ that's the motto. I want you to be prepared, particularly with this newfound friend of yours and next of kin -- the spawn of darkness, the prince of nothing.”

Lucky:  “Why, because his father's his uncle? He already told me.”

Luke:  “Well, you must've known you were sitting on quite a powder keg of information.”

Lucky:  “It wasn't my story. You think I should've come running to you with it? It was told to me in confidence, Dad.”

Luke:  “Oh. Confidence. Oh, well -- well, what was told to you in confidence will soon be general knowledge to the whole world, not that the whole world will give a crap. But you, I thought, might be interested.”

Lucky:  “I appreciate that. I do. But while you were hard at work speeding the flow of information to the whole world, did you stop and think about anyone else who maybe could use the warning? I'll give you a hint -- first you married her, then you left her.”

Lucky:  “Have you thought this through?”

Luke:  “I think I have.”

Lucky:  “Would it make me a spoilsport to point out that Nikolas doesn't care if he's a prince of anything or not?”

Luke:  “Well, his daddy does. His daddy cares a whole lot. Because he spent his life trying to accumulate power that will soon be gone.”

Lucky:  “All he's going to lose is money. And they'll have plenty of that left over. People like that always do. Sure, it'll make a few headlines. Newspapers love anybody with a title. But the name being dragged through the mud will be mom's, mainly.”

Luke:  “Well, that can't be helped.”

Lucky:  “Whose side are you on? I mean, who benefits here, really?”

Luke:  “Truth, justice.”

Lucky:  “Oh, I see. Yeah, you're right up there with spider-man and the green lantern. Lonely guys fighting for a better world -- they can't help it if people think they're weird. I mean, it's a superhero thing, we wouldn't understand.”

Luke:  “That's right. The air's very rare up here. Here's something I don't understand -- as a superhero and all. You trust Nikolas after what he did. Why do you think he told you about what happened between your mother and I? That's where this whole mess started.”

Lucky:  “Was it? {Seeing Lizzie approach} Oh, hey.” {Luke and Lucky get to their feet}

Lizzie:  “Hi.”

Luke:  “Hello, Elizabeth.”

Lucky:  “Ready to go?”

Lizzie:  “Mm-hmm.”

Lucky:  “All right. Dad, just go home, clear your head.”

Luke:  “Clear my head? Yeah, you're right. It takes a lot of energy to leap those tall buildings at a single bound.” {Lucky and Lizzie leave}

Lucky:  {On the docks} “My father's unhappy, which means he wants the Cassadines to be unhappier. So he's going to blow Nikolas' inheritance, paternity mess sky-high and make it public.”

Lizzie:  “Does Nikolas know?”

Lucky:  “Yeah. The only sad thing is my dad could have his life back, if he wanted it. He's just -- this is the best ammunition he's ever had. He can't bring himself not to use it.”

Lizzie:  “Nikolas is smart, and he's strong. He'll be ok.”

Lucky:  “Yeah, well, when this is all over and the dust finally clears, I think he'll have found what I found with you -- he'll be free.” {She leans back in his arms}
