Chapter 21

Marlena awakens in John's arms. She stares at him as he sleeps. She slowly plants kisses all over his hairy chest. John awakens. "Hey pretty lady." Marlena smiles. "Hey handsome. So are you going to tell me where we're going yet?" "Nope." "You can be so exasperating at times. I'll get you to talk." Marlena gets on top of John. She massages her way down John's body as she does this she rubs the inner part of John's thigh with her leg. John is enjoying this immensely. "Doc! You know I love it when you do that." "I know you do. So where are we going?" "Well Doc…we're going to…" Marlena plants baby kisses on John's nipples. "Yes.. yes!" Suddenly there's a very loud knock at the door but before they can answer it Belle, Brady, and Maddie come barging into the room. Marlena quickly gets off of John. All three of the kids jump into bed with them. "What do the three of you think you're doing?" "We came to bring you breakfast daddy!" "I don't see any breakfast!"

Megan awkwardly enters the room with a large tray filled with food. "I want to thank the three of you for waiting for me." Maddie speaks up. "You're welcome." Marlena hugs Maddie. "What's all this?" "I made breakfast for the two of you." Brady protests. "Hey we helped." "Sure you helped. You helped to make a mess." Brady sticks his tongue out at Megan. Megan makes a face back at him. Megan sets the tray down in front of her father. "Look at this Doc scrambled eggs, waffles, bacon, and toast." John takes a fork full of eggs. "This is good. Take a taste Doc." John feeds Marlena some eggs. "Wow that is good!" "Maybe you could give your mother some cooking lessons." Megan proudly smiles. Marlena smacks John on the arm. "You're terrible." "Come on Doc. Everyone knows what a bad cook you are." "All right enough about my cooking. Lets finish eating so we can get going."

Jesse and Mike are sleeping. Mike's holding Jesse very tightly. Mike has his hand resting on Jesse's stomach. They are lying I bed like two spoons. Jesse can feel EVERY part of Mike's body. Jesse's enjoying this but she starts to enjoy it a little too much. "Mike could you not hold me so tight?" "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I guess it's just been too long since I've held someone in my sleep." Mike lets go of Jesse. "How did you sleep?" Jesse turns to face Mike. "I haven't slept this sound in months. I really miss having someone to hold me in my sleep. Thank you." "It was my pleasure." Jesse smiles. Mike puts on a devilish grin. "I really did enjoy myself last night." "Oh you did. Did you?" "Yes I did and I would like to show you right now how much." Mike inches closer to Jesse. He traces the outline of her face. He begins to kiss her. Mike very slowly starts to remove Jesse's nightgown. They never break their kiss until her nightgown is about to come off. They pause for a moment. Each wonders if this should go any father. Jesse throws caution to the wind and she pulls Mike back to her awaiting mouth.

Suddenly there's a knock at the door. "Jesse, I'm leaving." Jesse and Mike pause. Jesse whispers, "Who cares?" Jesse rests her head on Mike's shoulder. There's another knock at the door. "Jesse?" Jesse tries to compose herself. "I'll be out in a minute!" Jesse kisses Mike. "I'll be right back. Don't move!" "Don't worry I don't think I can." Jesse puts on her robe. She chuckles as she goes out the door.

"Did I interrupt something?" "Yes, but don't worry about it. Well I guess it's time for you to go." Jesse hands Sharon her luggage. "Have a safe flight." "If I'm ever in Salem again we'll have to get together." Jesse's looking back at the bedroom door. She longs to finish what she and Mike started. "Sure the next time you're in town." Jesse opens the door and practically shoves Sharon out.

Jesse runs back to the bedroom. She enters to room to see Mike lying in bed fast asleep. Jesse very carefully crawls on top of him so not to wake him. As she crawls up his body she plants baby kisses all over Mike's body. She keeps going until she gets to Mike's mouth. Mike's eyes open. "You big faker." Mike laughs. "Come here." Mike gets on top of Jesse. He kisses her. Jesse helps Mike take her robe off. Once her robe is off Jesse's hands wonder all over Mike's body. She very slowly grabs Mike's boxers. "Here let me rid you of these." Mike smiles. Just then there's a knock at the door. "Oh man! What are the odds of that happening twice in one day?" Mike laughs. "I'm so sorry!" "Just get rid of whoever it is." Jesse gets up and puts on her robe again. "Don't start without me!" Jesse goes over to the bed and kisses Mike before she leaves.


Jesse opens the door to see Maddie and the entire Black family. Jesse's hair is all over the place and she tries to fix it. "Hi guys!" I forgot you were coming over this morning." The kids run into Maddie's room. John speaks. "That's pretty obvious." "What happened here last night?" Jesse blushes and smiles. "It's a long story. So where are you going on your honeymoon?" Marlena looks at John. "He still won't tell me." "You'll find out when we get there." John looks at his watch. "It's getting late we had better go." "Belle…Brady…Megan…it's time to go." All four of the children come out of the bedroom. Jesse opens the door. John hugs Jesse and he tells her to take care. John and the children go out the door. Marlena stops and turns to John. "Go down and start the car. I'll be down in a minute." John and the kids head downstairs. "I'll call you when we get where we're going." Marlena hugs Jesse. "You take care. I love you." "I love you too." Maddie comes over to the door. Marlena picks Maddie up. "I'll miss you sweetie. I want you to be a good girl while grandma's gone all right. I promise I'll bring you back lots of presents. Okay." "Otay. I wuv you." "I love you too sweetie." Marlena kisses Maddie and hands her back to Jesse.

Jesse closes the door. Jesse sits down on the couch with Maddie on her lap. "Did you have fun with Belle and Brady?" "Yes I did. We made grandma and John breakfast." "You did?" "Yep." Tears start to flow from Maddie's eyes. "Honey, what's wrong?" "I don't want dem to go." Jesse wipes her tears away. "Honey they'll be home before you know it." "But mommy I miss dem all ready." "I know baby." Jesse hugs Maddie and she starts to rock her. "You know what?" "What?" "I miss Marlena too. When Marlena calls I'll see if you can talk to Belle and Brady for a few minutes. Okay." Maddie smiles. "Otay mommy." "Why don't you go in your room and play while mommy gets dressed." "Otay mommy." Maddie runs into her room.

Mike comes out of the bedroom with his tux on. "Are you leaving?" "I heard Maddie so I figured that we wouldn't be able to pick up where we left off. I have to check in on some of my patients anyway." "Can I at least make you breakfast before you go?" Mike puts his arms around Jesse. "I don't know?" "I'm a very good cook. I'll make anything you want." Mike raises his eyebrow. "Anything?" "Anything." "How about pancakes?" Jesse has a worried look on her face. "What?" "Of all the things I could make for breakfast you pick the one thing I'm not very good at." Mike's beeper goes off. He looks at the number on the screen. "Damn, it's the hospital." Mike goes over to the phone and calls the hospital.

Jesse goes into her room to get changed. Mike knocks on the door. "Jesse, can I come in?" "Yes." "I have to go." Jesse goes over to Mike and puts her arms around him. "No breakfast?" "No. It's an emergency." "Darn it. I wanted to thank you for last night." Jesse kisses Mike. "Why don't you come over for supper tonight? I'll make dinner for the three of us and once Maddie's in bed we can pick up where we left off this morning. How does that sound?" "I can't wait for tonight." Mike kisses Jesse. The two of them walk hand in hand to the front door. Jesse opens the door and Mike walks out. Before he leaves he kisses Jesse one last time. "I'll see you tonight." "Tonight."

"Okay John. Please tell me where we are going." "No Doc we're almost there." Marlena turns to look out the window. She can see very tall snow covered mountain peaks. She thinks to herself that this looks so familiar. Then it hits her. "We're going to Colorado." Tears are in Marlena's eyes. "Doc are you all right?" "John this is a wonderful surprise." Marlena hugs John. "Thank you." "I figured that you haven't been home for a while and I thought that Frank and Martha should meet their new granddaughter." "That sounds like a wonderful idea." I just hope that they'll think it's wonderful too.
