Chapter 3 - The Wedding

"Eric, are you almost ready?" "How do I look?" "Fine." Eric takes Jesse into his arms. "I guess I deserve that one." "Yes as a matter of fact you do Eric." Jesse kisses Eric. "I'll go check on Carrie." Jesse knocks on Carrie's door. "Carrie can I come in?" "Sure, come on in Jesse." "Are you okay?" Carrie wipes the tears from her eyes. "I'll be okay." "I don't know how you do it." "Do what?" "If I were you I would have killed Sami a long time ago." Carrie begins to laugh. "Oh there were times when I wanted to kill her!" Eric is looking at his watch and pacing back and forth in the living room. "Come on ladies we are going to be late!" "Are you sure that you want to go through with this Carrie?" "Yes, I have to for my dad's sake."

At St Luke's
John and Marlena are talking just inside the doors. Tears start to flow from Marlena's eyes. "This reminds me of our wedding day, John." John takes Marlena into his arms. "I know Doc. I promise you we will get married in this church. That's a fact." Carrie, Jesse, and Eric walk into St. Luke's together. "Marlena you look beautiful." "Thank You Jesse." Carrie asks, "Is Sami in the bride's room?" "Yes she's back there with Kate and Roman." "I guess it's time to put on my happy face and check on her." "I'll go with you." "Marlena, Eric and I would like to talk to you and John first about something. Carrie do you mind?" "No. I'll be fine." Carrie leaves. "Well, we have a favor to ask of the two of you." "What is it?" "Maddie is going to be coming to Salem this weekend to stay permanently. Carrie's apartment is way too small for all of us. We were wondering if we could move into the mansion." "There's plenty of room." "Are you sure Kristen won't mind?" Kristen walks in. "What will I mind?" John turns to Kristen. "Eric and Jesse would like to move into the mansion." "Well the house is getting a little bit crowded, but the more the merrier." Marlena and John both give Kristen the death glare. "I think I am going to go and find a seat excuse me." Jesse turns to John.
"What did you ever see in that woman?" "You know I keep asking myself that very same question every time I'm around her." Marlena grabs Eric's hand. "Why don't we go back and check on your sisters?" "Would you like me to escort you to your seat?" "Thanks John, but I think I am going to wait for Eric." "I'm going to bite the bullet and take my seat next to my wife." "Good luck John. Remember this is a church so killing her here would be wrong; just hold out until you get back to the mansion." John starts to laugh as he heads for his seat.

Mike enters the church and bumps into Jesse. "I'm sorry." "You're Mike Horton, right." "Yes. Oh your Jesse, Eric's fiancée." "Yes I am. Is something wrong Mike?" "I have a problem." "I know we don't know each other, but I've been told that I am a good listener." "Maybe you can be objective. Well I know of some information, which could stop the wedding." "That's wonderful. What's the problem? Wait. Is this news big enough that it could stop the wedding and get Carrie and Austin back together?" "Yeah." "The problem is that you are in love with Carrie." "How did you know that?" "It's written all over your face." "I don't know what to do." "Mike you seem like a really nice guy. You will do the right thing. When you hear the words, "Does anyone know why these two may not be joined together.." your conscience will tell you what to do. I think you will do the right thing." "I hope you are right." Mike goes in to the find a seat. Jesse goes back to the bride's room to get Eric.

"Eric I think you should get out there and help to seat the guests. It's getting backed up out there." "Okay. Sami you look beautiful. Good luck." Eric gives Sami a kiss on the cheek and leaves. Jesse decides to have a little fun with Sami. "Well Sami you look beautiful. You know it is so nice to see two sisters get along so well. Now I don't have any sisters, but from what I've heard most of sisters don't get along this well. I was reading an article the other day in one of those women's magazines about one girl who was so jealous of her sister that she tried every tick in the book to try to steal her sister's fiancée. When all of her tricks didn't work she drugged her sister's fiancée to get him to sleep with her. Now she didn't tell anyone about this one night with the fiancée until the sister's wedding day. At the wedding she announced that she was pregnant with the groom's child. I can't believe what some sisters will do. Oh well! Like I said it's so refreshing to see the two sisters getting along so well. Wow! It's getting close to show time. I had better get to my seat. Good luck Sami! May you get EVERYTHING you deserve. Marlena and Kate are you coming?" "Yes we're right behind you." Kate is trying to hide her laughter and Marlena is a bit angry. "What was that all about?" "Well I was just testing the waters. Did you see the look on her face when I was telling that story? Marlena she has her memory back." Eric comes over and ushers the ladies to their seats. "Come on it's almost time for the wedding to start."

The wedding march begins and everyone jumps to their feet. Everyone in the church is whispering. "Why is Austin doing this? I thought he loved Carrie?" Sami is grinning from ear to ear because she knows she will finally have everything she ever wanted. Mike is talking to himself. "Ok Mike you know what you have to do just stand up and stop this charade. Think about Carrie. You want her to be happy right? Oh Carrie if I thought that you loved me just a little bit. No, Mike you have to do the right thing and the right thing is stopping the wedding." Next thing Mike hears is "Does anyone know of any reason why these two may not be joined in holy matrimony speak now or forever hold his peace?" Mike stands up. "I do. I know of a reason."

Caroline and Shawn sit Roman down in his wheel chair and try to convince him to go back to the mansion. He insists that he should stay and help Marlena straighten out whatever's going on. Jesse comes over to convince Roman to leave. "Roman, please go with your parents. When they get you home they can fill you in on what Sami has been up to while you were gone." "I want to stay. She's my daughter and I want to be here for Marlena." "Marlena has done just fine without your help over the past couple of years. Now she can handle Sami. Marlena doesn't need you collapsing in the middle of this. I'm sure she will fill you in on everything when this is all straightened out. Now please go and get some rest." Roman agrees to leave.

Sami is furious. "Mike what are you doing!" "Austin, why are you marrying Sami?" "I'm marrying her so our son will have two parents." "So you are only marrying her because of Will." "Yes. Do you have a problem with that?" "I do. You see Will is not your son." "What are you talking about? Sami would you care to take over." Carrie speaks up. "Mike, how did you find this out?" "Someone in the records department noticed the discrepancy in Will's blood type and since I am the family doctor they brought it to my attention. Will's blood type does not match Sami's, so therefore his has to match Austin's. Which it does not!" Austin is very angry. Sami is in tears. She knows that her entire world is about to come down crashing around her. Austin grabs Sami by her arm. "Who is Will's father?" "Austin I…" "WHO IS WILL'S FATHER?" "LUCAS! Lucas is Will's father. I slept with Lucas the around the same time I slept with you. When I found out I was pregnant I just assumed it was yours." "I can't believe this I fell for your schemes again! That night we found you at the hospital you weren't concerned about Marlena you were trying to change Will's blood type on the computer. Do you have any idea what could happen if you had changed the blood type? What if Will was in an accident and he needed blood? Sami if they give the wrong blood that would kill him." A thought crosses Austin's mind. "Changing blood types on the hospital computers. That's something the old Sami would do. You have your memory back don't you! DON'T YOU!" "Yes. Yes I have my memory back. I knew that you would leave me if you knew the truth so I pretended." Austin lets go of Sami. Austin turns to Carrie. "We have to talk." Sami tries to stop him. "Austin no wait." "You're not my problem any more. Come on Carrie lets go." Sami tries to go after them, but Marlena grabs her. "I think you have done enough damage for one day." "Let me go!" Sami gets away from Marlena. She then runs into Jesse. "Where do you think you are going?" "I'm going after Austin." "Oh no you're not!" "And who is going to stop me?" "I am!" Jesse makes a fist and decks Sami. She drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. "Oh god that hurt. They make it look so easy in the movies." Marlena rushes to her daughter. "Come on Sami wake up!" "Marlena, I'm sorry I don't know what came over me. I just wanted to stop her from going after them." "I understand, but think you could have found a better way." Sami starts to come to. "What happened?" "Sami can you get up?" Sami stands up. "We're heading over to the DiMera mansion and you are coming with us."
