Ian James Corlett
The cheetah robot Guardian with a monkey tail?
- Cheetor: Seemingly younger than the rest of the cast, Cheetor is always trying to prove himself, and usually has it blow up in his face. He grows up throughout the show, eventually becoming second-in-command. But he's still a hyper little kitty with an eye for mischief.
Voice Clip: "Okay, so how 'bout we just punt your butt a couple a hundred yards downfield!"
- Goku: The main character of the Dragonball series. He's originally of an alien race of warriors called the Saiyans (Saiya-jin, whatever). Like your typical anime hero, he's rather naiive, eats a lot, but is generally pure of heart. Goku's voice changes a number of times throughout the DBZ series, but Ian did his first voice.
Voice Clip: "Well, I'm really not sure what to expect, but I'll try my very best to make it to King Kai's place." (not the world's most exciting line, but I only had one episode to work with at that time)
- Bob: Actually, he only did Bob for the third season of ReBoot. At this point in the show, Bob is sort of a renegade Guardian, having been thrown into the Web, and teaming up with the Webriders. However, in the third season, he doesn't seem nearly as hyper and easygoing as before. Maybe the change had to do with his time in the Web, or maybe it was just because of the overall more serious nature of season three (well, besides the end of the last episode, which just takes the cake with weirdness).
Voice Clip: None yet
General Commentary: Both characters are surprisingly quite similar. They are both young and full of energy, and tend to get into fights a lot. Ian is an absolutely wonderful VA. He sounds like he's having so much fun with his roles! Of all the Goku voices (including his Japanese voice, which was somewhat out of my hearing range ^_^*), I like Ian's the best.
