I am sure everyone has heard of that year 2002 will be the "Year of Disney Sequels" with such movies as Peter Pan II, 101 Dalmatians: The Animated Sequel, Cinderella II, etc being released. Has the Disney creative team gave it their all on Atlantis? Can't they think of anything other than sequels to movie magic they already created? Are their magic tricks getting old? The idea of Atlantis came when they needed an action-adventure type movie. They searched through books and internet websites to find ideas to find the story of Atlantis. Now everyone must admit this seems to be a very grand movie indeed with a somewhat magical twist, but where is the magic Disney is known for? Movies like Dumbo, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Snow White are what brought families together and tought a lesson at the same time. The last real Magical movie was Pocahontas in 1995. Since then, Disney have been resorting from mythology to insects to ledgends. What happened to the stories where a beauty learns t love a beast, a young princess may be only awaken by true love's first kiss, or when little mice help an orphan in a big way? Ever since The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, Disney has been losing thier magical creativness. They need some ideas! Any suggestions? Email me at electro07@aol.com |
