First, I graduated with honors from Keansburg High School. I was 8th in my class of approximately 100. Within the school, I helped maintain it's homepage, was the President of the Student Council, part of the Drama Club, and much more. I was the "Voice of KHS". I earned that title by doing the daily announcments over the PA system and announcing football games.
I am attending Fairleigh Dickinson University, in Teaneck, NJ, as a Communications major. Like high school, I am involved with many things! I am a Resident Assistant in one of the residence halls, one of the people who is Knighttro (our mascot), the General Manager f the student run radio station WFDQ, and Photo Editor of The Equinox, the student newspaper. I also work with the Fine Arts department and participate with the theater group when possible.
Moving along, I'm part of the Boy Scouts of America. I have been ever since I can remember. I belong to Troop 22 of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. For all who know about Scouting, I'm am an Eagle Scout. This is the highest honor in Scouting. I've worked hard in Scouting and I've got to do some pretty cool things. I was one of 40 guys from my area to attend the 1997 National Boy Scout Jamboree in July of 1997. I was inducted into the Order of the Arrow (OA). The OA is a group of Honor Scouts dedicated to helping others. I am currently an Assistant Scoutmaster and help at troop meetings when I am home from school.
As mentioned earlier, I am involved in broadcasting. Before going to college, I was a DJ at 89.3 CNJ (call letters were WCNJ) in Hazlet, New Jersey (it was 89.3 FM here in Jersey). I worked with CNJ from February of 1997 until about September of 1998. It was a great learning experience for me as a high school student and helped me decide what I wanted to do in life. As I have mentioned, I am now the General Manager of WFDQ, FDU's student run radio station. A General Manager is the boss of the station. I love it. It is a lot of fun and I am learning a lot.
Probably one of my greatest loves in life is the fact that I am a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Navesink Hook and Ladder Fire Company #1, Station 1 of the Middletown Township Fire Department, Middletown, NJ (the MTFD homepage was created by me). Besides Navesink, I am a member of the Field Communications Unit. I am trained in many things. What more can I say besides I love being a firefighter!
