After 7 years in the Midwest USA and now 18 months in Winnipeg we still find ourselves quite foreign. Unfortunately we are now foreign back there too. Love the 'You know when...' things. Still miss decent mustard, curry sauce (though it's better here in Canada) and real pubs (The Elephant and Castle chain is clever but not quite right). Bu love the space here, and the prices, and the cleanliness - in Canada people pick up their dog's poop! One odd thing....there are no school dinners in Winnipeg. Either kids go home or you pay a fee to let them stay on the school premises to eat their sandwiches (which you packed).

This is fun site. My daughter who is now an expat in England(6Months) still cannot get over how they pronounce DYNASTY and VITAMINS in England.

Any advice for people thinking of emigrating to Australia ? Would love to hear from anyone expats who have done this, particularly anyone in the Hotel/Catering management line as my husband is, or a TEFL teacher like myself.
