This is my first visit to the site for some months. We have quite a large U K expat community here with some Canadian, US, French , Italian and Scandinavian fellow travellers especially in the St Andrew's Society. We have persuaded a local cafe to behave ike a pub on Fridays but no draught McEwans I'm afraid. We need a singer who can play the pipes for our Burns Night in January - any offers? My Husband David and I will be relocating to Britian on January 3, 1998. David has been transferred by his Company to their Corporate Offices in East Grinstead, West Sussex. We will hopefully starting a Web Page of our own in February or so, and will be getting a new e-mail addresss as well. Wish us luck! Merry Christmas to you!

I found the site interesting and informative, except I was interested in information on obtaining a work visa and emigration information to BRITAIN; I noticed you had listed other countries; can you help me? I would like to move there for possibly two-th ee years; It would give me a chance to visit sites that I have always wanted to see, which cannot possibly be done on a two-week holiday. Its always nice to find an expat page! Me and my husband moved here 7 years ago by way of his job and were determined to hate it but just couldnt, we fell in love with the pine forests, lakes, Autumn colours, people and all the clean, cute cities. But o course we do feel a certain longing for home, especially for a good pint and some good English foods (we have to drive an hour to find Marmite just to name one). We will be spending our Christmas in Hove (where my hubby is from) and look forward to it! Oh and by the way, are there any other expats in Wisconsin? We have yet to meet another English expats here?, our neighbours four houses down are Australian but we would still like to hear from a couple of Brits if any are around! Cheers!!

Just trying to locate other ex-pats out on the web - feeling kinda lonely after 9 years in the US. Miss my MARMITE and Bovril and other good stuuf. Hate the American way of seeing things. Pity they iwn everything. Hate the way the yanks see the brits as cute
