It's a Small World

It's a Small World, which originally premiered at the 1964-65 World's Fair in New York, is predominantly more popular with females. This is mainly because the ten minute ride is filled with Audio-Animatronic dolls representing dozens of countries. When guests are seated in their boats they embark on the happiest cruise that ever sailed 'round the world, although almost a little too happy! Throughout the ride, guests pass scenes depicting a country or area of the world. The scenes are portrayed using dolls dressed in costumes native to that area and partaking in activities enjoyed in that area. For instance, you can be sure to see little dutch clidren in wooden shoes, cancan dancers, bagpipers, gondoliers, yodelers, snake charmers, Japanes kite flyers, and many, many more during your voyage. Probably the most famous, or perhaps infamous, part of the attraction is the theme song, "It's a Small World (After All)" written by famous disney composers Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, which is sung throughout the ride by the dolls again, and again, and again! Be sure not to get it stuck in your head! One positive part of the ride is that since the attraction is so large and the ceiling seems miles away, there is so much to see and you will rarely see everything on one trip. See if you can name all the countries and areas portrayed during the ride.

Interesting and little known facts

-the original concept for the theme song was the national anthems of two dozens countries playing simultaneously during the ride, it proved to be a disaster!
