The Banned Philosophy

What does to ban somebody mean? To ban somebody is to eject somobody from its country. But, is is possible to say that "the philosphy" has a country at all? In a sense, we could say that the country of "the philosophy" is the country of "the thought". How, the, one (a Government or a Dictator) can eject, trow away, "the philosophy" beyond the "boundaries of thought"? That should mean that such a country, i.e. "the country of thought", or let me call it "the realm of thought" has, at least, one kind of boundary, beyound fromit one could trow "the philosophy" out. the main problem here is that the space beyond that necesary boundary of "the realm of thought" must be some imaginable thing. Even the concept of a god (or a goddess) is inside "the realm of thought".
Therefore, we must say that "the philosophy" cannot be ejected out from "the realm of thought".
But it is a fact that there has been some (a lot indeed!) writters banned, or, at least, forbidden their publication, lecture, ... even spoken! So, should we say that "the philosophy" is philosophy in so far as there are people who, lets say, philosophie? Lets say 'yes' more argumento. Moreover, lets assume that when we talk about "philosophers" we are refering to those who, indeed, orient their lifes towards the search (and research) of knowledge.

And I must say that any one who intellectually defies any stablised power, being aware of the consequences of such dare or challenge, is, in a wide sense, a philosopher. In this wide sense, any stance that INTELECTUALLY goes against a particular stablishes power (v.g. a militar ditatorship), is a pure philosophical stance. But, indeed, it is necessary to say that it is mainly "philosophical" the theoretical part of that stance, even if it is posible that the "owners" of that theoretical part could be involved in a praxis against that stablished power (just think in Rousseau).
In conclusion, when a particular stablished power reproves, threats, imprisions, or assassinates any one who, in his defense, and as a member of the community ruled by that particular stablished power, goes intellectually against that power, is making a miserable and highly violent action, not only against that person or, perhaps, groups of persons, but against "the philosophy" it self.

La Filosofia Proscrita

¿Qué quiere decir proscibir a alguien? Proscribir a alguien es expulsarlo de su tierra. Pero, ¿es posible decir que la filosofía tiene tierra en absoluto? En cierto sentido, podriamos decir que la tierra de la filosofía es la tierra del pensamiento. ¿Cómo, pues, uno (un gobierno o un dictador) puede hechar, arrojar a la filosofía má allá de los límites del pensamiento? Eso debiera significar que tal tierra... o, déjenme llamarla, "reino del pensamiento" tiene, al menos, un tipo de límite, a través del cual uno podría arrojar a la filosofia fuera. El principal problema aquí es que el espacio más allá de ese necesario límite del "reino del pensamiento debe ser algo o al menos alguna cosa imaginable. Incluso el concepto de dios (o de diosa) está dentro del reino del pensamiento.
Por tanto, debemos decir que la filosofía no puede ser expulsada fuera del reino del pensamiento.
Más es un hecho el que ha habido alguna (¡mucha, por cierto!) escritores de filosofía prosciptos, o, al menos, prohibidos de publicar, leer, ... incluso de hablar. Entonces, ¿deberiamos decir que la filosofía es filosofía en tanto en cuanto que hay gente que, digamos, filosofa? Digamos 'sí' more argumento. Más aún, asumamos que cuando hablamos acerca de los filósofos nos estamos refiriendo a aquellos que, de hecho, arientan sus vidas hacia la búsqueda (e investigación) del conocimiento.

Y debo decir que cualquiera que intelectual-mente rete cualquier poder establecido, siendo consciente de las consecuencias de tal atrevimiento o reto es, en un sentido amplio, es un filósofo. En este sentido amplio, cualquier actitud que intelectualmente vaya en contra de un determinado poder establacido (v.g. una dictadura militar) es una postura puramente filosofica. Pero, de hecho, es necesario decir que es principalmete filosófica la pare teórica de esa actitud, incluso si es posible que los "dueños" de la parte teórica pudieran estar involucrador en una praxis contra ese poder establecido (sólo pienses en Rousseau).
En conclusión, cuando un determinado poder establecido reprende, intimida, encarcela, o asesina a cualquiera que, en su defensa, y como miembro de una comunidad gobernada por ese determinado poder establecido, va intelectual-mente contra ese poder, está cometiendo un acto miserable y altamente violento no sólo contra esa persona o, quizá, grupo de personas, sino contra la filosofía en sí.
