    Under the administration of Amphoe Khura Buri, Phangmga, Mu Ko Surin National Park is located in the Andaman Sea and covers the area of approximately 135 square kilometers for this five islets archipelago. To reach the park, tourists may start from three different point, but the moust convenience and the least time taken is from Ban Hin Lat in Amphoe Khura Buri which takes about 4-5 hours journey. The island' most attractions are long, beautiful beaches with smooth white sand, lines of perfect shallow water coral reef, and mainland inhabitted by seagypsy. The National Park Division, Royal Forestry Department provides accommodations in the form of bungalows for tourist, and reservation can be made through by Tel. (6676) 579-0529, 579-4842. Note for the most suitable time to visit is from December-March of each year.
Places to Visit at Mu Ko Surin National Park
The north and south islands of Surin Islands (ten in all) are very beautiful and well worth visiting along with Ao Mai Yai or Mae Yai which is a large, secluded gulf. Ao Luk, located at the south-east corner of the north island, has a deep whitlpool and a shallow-water coral reef with a variety of seaweed, sea flowers, corals and various kinds of colourful fish.
Villagers at the Surin islands are Pao Singha who still live according to ancient customs and lifestyles and are the last group of people still living on their fishing bots around Ko Surin beach. A wood-carving, which resembles an American Indian figure, stands on the opposite of the park office. It is said to be held sacred by the fishermen who gather together on the full-moon night of the third lunar month each year to worship the spirits. This gathering lasts around three days.
The best time to visit Mu Ko Surin National Park is from the beginning of December until April, but before you set out, be sure to check with the metrorologica office to see if the weather is going to sty fine. The boat trip to the park takes six hours so you need to be properly equipped with a medicine kit, tent, mosquito repellent, food and drinking water. The trip should be undertaken as a group with a tour guide.
How To Get There
Mu Ko Surin National Park can be reached in four to five hours by rented boat from Khura Buri pier in Phangmga. Boats can also be rented in Ranong province and the journey takes around seven hours to the park. Alternatively, you can contact the Chansomthara Hotel which has a tour boat from Chandamri beach to Mu Ko Surin National Park.

Where To Stay
The park has bungalows and also camping tents for tourists and a supply of food and drinks. There are larger houses accommodating up to twenty people for 1,800 baht per person per night or smaller houses at 1,200 baht. Tents are also available for rent at 100 baht per night and if you take your own camping here you will be charged just thirty baht for a night's camping.
