JAPAN --- INTERSACTION OF MODERN WORLD AND TRADITIONAL
SOCIETY
TRADITIONAL SIDE (KYOTO):

Kyoto is a very good place to experience traditional Japanese
atmosphere. Old temples, shrines can be found almost everywhere.
If you are interested in Japanese culture, I would recommend you
to stay in Kyoto for at least 3 days because there are so many
things to see and try.

MODERN SIDE (OSAKA):
These pictures were taken from the 10th floor
of the Kaisai International Airport. I don't know if it was lucky
of staying for an extra night in Japan! Because of the strike of
the CX pilots, I could not go back to Hong Kong on my schdule.
The airlines arranged me to stay a night in the Nikko Airport
Hotel. They gave me food coupons which were worth 4000 yen. I
almost used up the coupon for dinner. The coupon was 2000 yen, I
spent 1974 yen. What did I eat? I bought 2 fish burgers, 2
terriyaki burgers, 2 medium fires, 2 medium coke and 1 bacon pie!
It was a miracle that I could eat them all up in 3 hours! The
breakfast was for a buffet breakfast. Again, I ate a lot there!
However, I did not get fat! I think the reason was that I could
not sleep well in the hotel. Firstly, too much things were in my
stomarch. Secondly, I was afraid of earthquake! You know, I was
in the 10th floor. I could not leave the building fast! Also, the
airport was in an artificial island. The island was connected to
the land by one bridge only. If the bridge was damaged by the
quake, I would be buried by tsunamis!
You can see the only bridge going from
the airport to the land!
The
main terminal of the airport.
Lives of the people
I was lucky because I have good
friends in Japan. They explained me many Japanese things. For
example, food culture. They brought me to different stores to try
different styles food. Itadakimas!
