So we are finally at the cliff-side
mouth to the cave. I am preparing my rope for an abseil down to a
ledge where we will hike down to the sea. It was late in the day
and we only barely caught a boat back to the beach where we were staying.
Actually the boat would not take us to the side of the peninsula we needed
to get to - he was afraid of rough seas. We tried to tell him that
the seas were as calm as could be (see next pic). He would have none
of it. So once off the boat we were facing a very dark 6 km hike.
Fortunately a Thai family drove by in a very empty pick-up truck.
They honked so I waved them down and we were back at our guesthouse eating
supper within 5 mintues!
