One of the most traditional season in our world is Christmas, it motives us to feel more sensibility to our neighbour. As a big celebration, Christmas has been featured on stamps around the world and Salvadoran ones are not the exception.
The first Salvadoran Christmas stamps were issued in 1976 and included, as a main motif, the picture of a child with a Christmas tree. This issue has 8 values and were issued on December 16.

On December 1960, El Salvador issued a set of 8 stamps and 2 souvenir sheets of Poinsettias. Even though, these stamps were not issued under Christmas topic at that time, everybody knows this flower is related to Christmas, and that is the reason we include them in this article.
