Humans
Elves
Humans are the most varied race. They exist in almost every environment, and they explore the world with great enthusiasm. Human settlements and farms spring up quickly in the explorers' wake. They worship every god, follow every alignment, and have a thousand myths of their own origins and creations.
Human characters are drawn from many backgrounds. Some are raised for a life of adventure, while others find the path as escaped slaves, runaway apprentices, or simply farmers; children who hear the call of their heroic hearts.
Your human character can come from almost any background; the decision is up to you.
They are ancient, They are the living essance of magic itself. They are elves.
Unlike the other player character races, who begin the story with perhaps one or two decades of life experience, the long-lived elves  consider their children to be too young to leave home for many decades, even a hundred years. So you see life differently than most other characters. Knowing that you'll live to see the trees grow tall and the bright sparks of most nonelven friends fade and die has a profound effect on your outlook and worldview.
Compensating for this longevity is the elven tendency to chase various passions and pursuits with wild abandon. Elves don't have short attention spans, and they focus on the task at hand when required. But when left to their own desires, their quick minds and good humor lead to lives of enterainment and  a search for positive experiences.
All characters recieve basic training in the favored weapons of the elves: the swords and bows of so many elven legends. As an elf, your imagination is fired with tales of great heroes of the past and the promise of a bright future.
Elves are short and slim, ranging in height from 4 and a half to 5 and a half foot tall. They weight anywhere from 85 to 135 pounds and live up to 1000 years.
Arials
Up high on the tops of the mountains live the Arials, a race of angelic people. With their broad, white feathered wings, it is easy to mistake them for angels. But these are no "ordinary" angels. Arials possess the power of the elements, each specializing in only one.
Each Arial has wings colored to match their element. Earth Arials have a green tint to their wings, fire has a red tint, water has a blue tint, and air has a rainbow tint. Healers have a gold tint to their wings. They range in height from 5 and a half to 6 and a half foot tall, with females slightly shorter than males. Weight ranges from 100 to 135 pounds, with females lighter than males. Arials are graceful but frail, due to their hollow bones. They tend to be pale, with dark hair, but hair color can range from blonde to black. Eye color is usually brown, but blues and greens have been seen.
Arials have no facial or body hair, and perfer simple, lightweight clothing and simple but elegent jewelry. They possess unearthy grace and fine features. Many humans and other races find them hauntingly beautiful. An Arial reaches adult age at 100 years old and can live up to be 900 years old.
Arials live in a monarchy, ruled currently by Queen Jedrara. She controls all forms of government, even down to settling the occasional squabble between her people. She is beloved by all and tries to keep the peace between her people, as she has done for centuries. She, and the rest of the Arial, hold all life and peace to be sacred. They do not believe in killing, but will to defend themselves and others. They are also known as peacekeepers.
Leithians
On the isle of Leith live the race called the Leithians, also known as Shadow Walkers for their ability to walk into one shadow and appear elsewhere from another shadow. They look like humans, but they have large pointed ears like elves, and slightly larger than normal eyes. They are quite tall, ranging in height from 5 foot 7 to 6 foot even. They are slender, but not overly muscular. Throwbacks, as they are called, sometimes appear to have dragon like wings.
Leithians have weight ranging from 100 to 170 pounds, with females naturally lighter than males. They are naturally tanned, with light hair and eye color. They do have body hair, but since they are so much like humans, they aren't overly hairy. They perfer lightweight clothing in light colors. Leithians reach adult age at about 50 years old, and can live upwards of 600 years old.
The most unusual thing about Leithians is their ability to Shadow Walk. While in the shadows they are able to hear the thoughts of all those around them, within a five mile radius. That is unbearable to them and so, they rarely use that power. They are the mysterious race because they shun other races. Leithians perfer to be with others of their own kind because they are able to close their mind. It is rare to see a Leithian off their isle. Those who do venture off usually are in search of adventure or have a great need that cannot be fulfilled at home.
They are lead by a Council of Nine, the head being a magic user, since they are rarer than warriors. The Head Elder also oversees the training of other magic users. Leithians believe in the holding of Life itself is the most precious of all, and they fight to uphold their beliefs.
Daywalkers
Daywalkers are vampires, who are seemingly immune to sunlight, allowing them to travel in the day. The look like normal humans in every respect, but Daywalkers have superhuman strength and can jump higher than most creatures. They can be killed like a normal human.  Crosses have no power over a Daywalker.
There isn't much to their society. They are all independent, living on their own, but with one common goal: to terrorize the humans, or whatever race they come across. Daywalkers especially take delight in burning temples.
Some Daywalkers survive off blood of the fallen, while others hunt, pulling people from their homes to consume then, or cage them for later use.
Daywalkers are born when a vampire mates with a human. Not all are evil either. They have a free will, deciding on what way they will act towards the others they do encounter.
The Sar
The Sar are a proud race of felinids who live upon and rule savannas and jungles of the south. The race is composed of seven different castes: three upper castes - Osis'sar (Lion), Lusa'sar (Tiger), and Dy'sar (Puma), and four lower castes - Shyo'sar (Lynx), Chen'sar (Cheetah), Hu'sar (Leopard), and Ala'sar (Jaguar). Although members of one caste are capable of mating with those from another, the offspring from such a union are mongrels. Those unlucky enough to be tainted as such from birth are considered to be Albassi, casteless ones, and are considered the lowest members of Sar society.
The Sar are essentially humanoid cats. They range from five to six feet in height (Ala'sar) all the way up to seven and a half to eight foot tall (Osis'sar), with a similar variance in weight. The members of the seven castes each resemble one species of big cat; the appearance of mongels can vary widely but generally seems to favor a generic feature of little note (a tendency which increases with each generation of separation from "pure" stock).
The castes are ruled over by an emperor and empress. The emperor is selected by the upper castes, known as the Rurka (First Children), from their ranks. The empress is selected by the lower castes, the Curka (Second Children). Since the emperor and empress are selected from different castes, they are capable of only producing Albassi children, preventing any attempts to form an imperial dynasty.
The Sar reach adulthood at around age 30and live up to 300 years, with differences for each caste race.
Lykoi (Werewolves)
The Lykoi are natural shapechangers. Born in human form, they grow as a human until they manifest their unique hertiage and learn to shapechange into wolves. Viewed with suspicion, Lykoi learn to hide what they are when traveling in foreign lands.
Within their society, Lykoi have no governing authority. Each hunts on his own orwith close family and friends. They do band together against outside threats, but normally those outside a pack offer outsiders little support in survival. They take pleasure in hunting, which they normally do in wolf form. Success in a difficult hunt is a mark of pride.
While Lykoi are secretive about themselves, they are inquisitive about others. The young show a curious streak that presses them into exploration.
In human form, Lykoi are slimmer than normal humans and have wiry builds. They stand five to six feet tall and weigh 110 to 200 lbs. Hiar is usally dark, though many have light brown or blond hair. Their eyes are their most striking feature. Until their first transformation, Lykoi have normal brown eyes. Once they shapechange, they retain wolven eyes even in human form, dark gold or blue, depending on where they are from.
Lykoi age at the same rate as humans. They are considered adults between 12 and 15 and can live as long as 90 years.
Komodos
The Komodos are a large tribe of reptilian people living in and around the great Mt. Izben volcano. Their chieftain, Izben the Youngest, is the self-proclaimed son of the primary god of Komodo lore, the maker of the volcano and other things, Izben.
They can climb walls, like geckos, and have sharp teeth and claws, with long, spiked tails. They range from 6 to 9 feet in height, and usually weigh anywhere from 190 to 400 lbs. 200 is about average for a Shamen, while 300 is about average for a Warrior. 7 feet is about the average height for any Komodo. Lifespan can reach 800 years, with 200 being roughly adult age.
Their race is made up of two classes: Shamans and Warriors. Shamans are magic-users and much less powerful than Warriors, who are melee fighters to the core. Shamans are less common, and considered nobles. Warriors protect the kingdom, and the dark secret held within their volcano home. The secret is an ancient demon that nearly wiped out the Komodo race centuries ago. Young Komodo Warriors and Shamans are made apprentices early in life, at about 50 years old, which would be about 6 years old in human years.
The Komodos are a tribal system, with the chieftain as their leader. However, the real rulers are the Shaman Council. The chieftain is merely a figurehead and a battle leader.
The volcano is heald above all else because it has protected the Komodos from any attacker that may happen across them. It erupted just as it appeared the race would be eradicated by an army of human knights and saved them, chased off an army of the demon Naojourai, and and swallowed the very same demon up, sealing him away wthin its fiery depths.
