~*~Jr. Weyrlings(Adopters)~*~ ~*~Sr.Weyrlings~*~ ~*~Riders~*~

AlinthA’finar and R’pton watched, along with blue Lith, as the little green, Alinth, stroked her wings strongly. It had been a little over a turn earlier that the bright lightly colored green and her dark blue brother had been abandoned the morning after their hatching. Both weyrlings were hit hard by the fact that for some reason their original riders didn’t want them. With a bit of dumb luck on A’finar and R’pton the green and the blue had chosen them respectfully. Though they had done this the two abandoned hatchlings had for at least two months continued to try and get their original riders back… sadly they did not reply.

During their two months of denial R’pton and A’finar had to work hard to get their young friends to eat. There were days when neither hatchling wanted to move; their new riders comforted them those days. As the days went by the two hatchlings became started to become as cheery as the were at their hatching yet as would happen a dark cloud always hovered near by reminding them that they’d been abandoned once upon a time. Those dark clouds were now few and far between.

Would you look at that sky, A’finar? It’s so beautiful! What a shame that it’s marred by Thread every few days. Aye, m’beauty, that’s what we’re here for.

LithShe flies the best in our clutch; lovely wings to do so with. Lith commented to his rider absently as he looked up at his slightly smaller sister. R’pton rubbed his dragon’s eyeridge lovingly in silent agreement.

“She’ll be the first to be allowed to have her rider on her back,” R’pton commented out loud as he followed the patterns the little green made in the air. A’finar nodded solumly, being a dragonrider had calmed his tendencies at times, especially in the area of his love life and flirting.

“I’m just questioning if I should have her fly and burn her own flame or let her clutch first,” A’finar replied. Both R’pton and Lith looked at the green rider, their full attention now on him.

“She’s a fighting dragon, why hold her off from flaming?” R’pton asked; he was now more confident of himself with the help of his brown hating blue. He knew that there were greens who were kept fertile, but rarely did a male ridden green not get feed firestones before their first flight.

“Look at my Alinth,” A’finar continued not braking his gaze away from his best friend in the world, “she’s the most beautiful green on Pern, it would be a crime for her to not clutch at least once in her lifetime. She’d give birth to some beautiful children, and a number of handsome ones with the right mate.” A’finar ended looking at R’pton out of the corner of his eye and winking at him. R’pton blushed, he’d not lost that habit by any means.

What if Alinth doesn’t want to clutch? I mean her own children could be abandoned like us. Lith stated with a slight growl, both from his statement and the fact that a brown got too close to them. R’pton relayed what his dark blue had stated.

“Well my lovely, green, what’s your opinion on all of this?” A’finar called out to the flying green. Alinth looked up in the sky thoughtfully and then turned her dainty green head towards her beloved rider. Lith has a point, what if they abandon my offspring like they did to us? The green’s wings fluttered irritably causing her to rise rapidly for a few seconds. A’finer sighed, his face turning to a deeply soulful expression. Some how the green rider felt he was responsible for Alinth’s spite towards the rider she’d impressed to who hadn’t wanted her.

“How could they not want a child of your own?” he countered lovingly, “That’d look just a beautiful as you and they’d be lucky for your children to have chosen them… besides that I’ll make sure they don’t abandon your children.” Promise, Arco? the green asked calling her rider by his old nick name. I promise on your own shell, no you’re mother’s golden shell! Her shell has long crumbled and disappeared… but if you feel so sure, I’ll do it for you, my rider.

Lith suddenly leapt into the air and joined the green in her exercises at the same time relaying to his rider what the green had stated.

“She has a lot of faith in you, Acro,” R’pton smiled as he watched their two dragons as they seemed to dance at the same time as play a small game of tag.

“And I have faith in her,” A’finar replied putting his hand over R’pton’s yet kept his eyes on the blue and green before them. She will fly well when the time comes, R’pton. She and her rider will like good company until that time. Lith commented to his rider, there was a turn to pass at least till that time came, and the two pairs would stay by to comfort when times got tuff until then.

Lith and Alinth were not impressed but adopted. As I was told the peronas that they'd originally impressed to never put them up and so gave up their rights to them. Unless I'm told other wise by the Weyrwoman of Katadon Weyr I will continue to have R'pton and A'finar be Lith and Alinth's riders.

Lith and Alinth were grown faster than their syblings with blessing of the Weyrwoman of Katadon.
