Note that previously to this story, it has been two turns since F’link graduated from Firestone Weyr’s first Weyrling Class and gone to Seiryuu Weyr. He participated in the X-gender frenzy in which she was flown by blue Solath. F’link is not prone to stay with anybody so this was not a permeate flight.

“So would you like to join us on this trip, F’link?”

“You’re saying my brother, Grugrantal, is there?” the very tall green rider asked of the two shorter riders. The duo nodded at the man and F’link mused in thought, trying his best not to let his sexual urges for the two riders go to his head; this was family business they were talking about.

“How far in the future is he, C’rter?” he asked the metallic brown rider.

“How far did they say, Aisu? About twenty-five hundred?” C’rter asked the smaller yet spunky looking young woman at his side. Aisu nodded quite sure of it.

“Give or take a hundred years,” she nodded, “He’s in the tenth interval.”

“So Thread doesn’t stop for at least that long,” F’link sighed, for one of the few times in his life dead serious about a situation, “But you’ve had him go there to impress a dragon? Why go into the future, and so far at that? I mean he could have just waited for a clutch here to hatch or we could have sent him to another Weyr to impress.”

“We want him ready for the hockey team and to be able to fly Thread as soon as possible, F’link,” Aisu told the man with a frown as he started to lose control of his bisexual eyes. Down, my rider. You know well she’ll deck you as quickly as Gemtia ever would if you looked too much. the minty tone of his green dragon Akaneth interrupted his thoughts before they turned more perverse. The green had over the years tried to save her rider’s tail more than a couple times a turn from making an ass of himself because of his heavy sex drive. He had every green in heat beat with his drive to “divide and conquer.”

“Oh,” F’link replied, “So family trip for me, who else is coming along.”

“Well we were talking to Gemtia and T’lcin,” Aisu replied, “They’ll be coming at least… possible a few of the other bronze and brown riders.”

“Sounds like we’re sending an army through time,” F’link chuckled at the same time as shivering at the thought of so many good-looking riders coming along on the trip. And I’m the only green rider coming along it seems. Oh this will be nearly perfect… only made better if I can bed one or more of them.

“The Werywoman’s getting worried,” Aisu gave a wiry grin, “Ar’wen was the one to take your brother there about two days back. He usually gets back from that Weyr within a day of when we see him leave. She suspects that he might be causing trouble.”

“Or worse he himself could be in trouble because of the jump,” C’rter tried to tell F’link gently.

The green rider was in a bit of shock at the idea of Ar’wen being in trouble because of the jump. Or to be more exact he was worried about his slightly younger brother. F’link may have been a sex crazed green rider and a huge goof off flirt, but when it came to his family and friends they came first in his life.

“When do we leave?”

“After the dragons have had their fill of food whether they ate yesterday or two weeks ago… two sevendays,” C’rter replied and corrected his wording so F’link would understand better, “Get your Akaneth eating now, and go pack a few days worth of clothing. We’ll have to stick around there for a while so our dragons recover before coming back.”

“By Faranth!” F’link yelped shortly after he and twelve other riders from Seiryuu Weyr had appeared above the Weyrbowl of Dragonhope Weyr. No sooner had he said this than the brown watch dragon below gave an alarmed bellow and Akaneth changed her course from landing to seemingly fleeing. AkanethI must get out of here, F’link! Anyath may be my sister but she will kill me if I stay in her sights. the usually brave green creeled.

It was then that F’link noticed Gemtia’s gold Anyath was glowing brightly with her eyes whirling a dangerous red and had made a dive towards the ground. He watched as the women jumped off her dragon and landed oddly though it was getting hard to see as Akaneth tried to put more distance between her and the gold in heat. We have to go back, I think Gemtia hurt herself getting off of Anyath, F’link was telling his bond just as the gold below went into a rage about what happened to her rider. He was amazed that the gold had then turned and raced towards the feeding grounds without taking to flight to get there.

“By Faranth, she’s fast when running on the ground,” the green rider commented causing his mount to look over her shoulder to notice. I could drop you down by them while her back is turned… but I must go, if she sees me… Yes, I know, my lovely. Let’s make this quick and then you find a place to hide. And thus, Akaneth swerved back towards the Weyr and dropped her rider off almost as quickly as Anyath had done with Gemtia… save for the fact that F’link didn’t sprain his ankle.

F’link looked to Gemtia, who looked quite gray and weak from the flight. She had a horror stricken look on her face as she watched the gold head towards the feeding grounds. The green rider was at the woman’s side within seconds, for once not looking at her like he wanted to bed her at that moment; though the thought had crossed his mind.

“Gemtia, are you alright?” F’link asked and noticed T’lcin was on the gold rider’s other side already supporting her. It seemed like Gemtia wasn’t quite noticing F’link at all.

“Get them food! Especially the gold rider, she’ll need all her strength to control her dragon in a flight!” a man shouted. F’link couldn’t help but notice the man was quite dashing, dark skinned with gold tipped black hair. Nice! The green rider smirked and looked the man up and down with unhidden interest.

“Pick your jaw off the ground and wipe the drool of her face while you’re at it, F’link,” C’rter came up beside the man, “as much as you want him it probably wouldn’t work out. He’s the Weyrleader, S’xon.” F’link sighed, Oh well… never stopped me before. Though he thought this he put those thoughts aside knowing well that the Weyrwoman would probably not be happy with him either if he were to even flirt with the man.

A few hours later, Gemtia and T’lcin were locked up in a spare weyr while their dragons flew through the air intwined in a mating flight. It was at this time that Akaneth returned with Aisu and her gold Akemith. And at this point that Ar’wen showed up with a grin on his features announcing that this had been his plan, and that two more flights would come of them being there. F’link looked at his green upon this announcement and smirked at the brighter coloring in his bond. I guess he’s right… this doesn’t mean you have the right to try and bed any rider that comes your way before I fly. I know, but I can look… and look heavily. The green snorted at her horny rider though it was obvious that even she was taking a harder look at the males from their own Weyr as well as these newer males who technically were around 2500 turns her junior.

Despite the thoughts of getting layed, F’link remembered why he’d originally come along… and it seemed the blue rider hadn’t been expecting that little bit of information.

“Ar’wen!” F’link called to the blue rider sharply.

“Camoth’s not going to be in your flight, F’link, you know we have Sadel and Makototh,” Ar’wen told him in all seriousness.

“Too bad,” F’link quipped back, “Aside from that I was going to ask you something else. Where’s Grugrantal?”

“Oh, Gr’ant’s in the Weyrling Barracks,” Ar’wen smiled, “The clutch just hatched yesterday. I’ll let you see him to find out the color.” The blue rider chuckled as the F’link brightened. His brother had come here and impressed and now he’d be sticking around long enough to see Akaneth fly and clutch as well… that would probably be a turn’s worth of time.

“Where?” he asked without stating that he meant he was wanting directions to the Weyrling barracks.

“See the big cavern over there,” Ar’wen asked, “Try three entrances to the right, you should find him in there.” F’link was off at a jog towards the weyr indicated and was nearly there when a small troop of weyrlings and their riders started exiting the Weyrling Barracks. It was quickly apparent to F’link that this had been something other than a gold clutch as there was a lack of gold, bronze, and even brown in the group.

The green rider was trying to see if he knew any faces in the group when a flash of white caught his eye at the end of the pack. He turned to focus on the dragon and found it to be a white who was slightly bigger than blue in the group. Wait a moment… that white has blue wings! F’link blinked and took another look and sure enough, the wing sails of the white weyrling were blue, a rare rare one might say.

“F’link?” a familiar voice caught his attention and the white dragon turned to look at the green rider. It was then that F’link found the speaker to be his shorter, to the green rider, brother who looked just as startled to see F’link as the green rider was to see what his brother had impressed, “What are you doing here?”

“I heard you were going to impress here plus the were getting worried at the Weyr,” F’link replied, “Ar’wen usually arrives back within twenty four hours of timing to a place so Quachir sent us out to find him and you… make sure you’d not gotten hurt or… or worse. ”

“Ar’wen’s a good rider, bro,” Gr’ant replied breaking from the line, knowing their training wasn’t supposed to start for the next few mintues, “and Camoth’s got a great sense of direction and time… So what did Ar’wen tell you?”

“He only told me you took the name Gr’ant as a rider and you impressed yesterday,” F’link replied, “he refused to tell me what color and his name… it is a he right?” The blue winged white snorted at the green rider’s questioning and Gr’ant couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Yeah of course he is,” Gr’ant replied stroking the hatchling’s eye ridges, “I think he might have decided to take our many times great grand father’s name… or maybe there’s a chance that he is Garrett… but he is called Garretth.”

“You made a great choice, both in name and in rider, Garretth,” F’link smiled at the young dragon who puffed out his chest proudly, “You keep him in line.”

“So how long are you staying now that you’ve all found Ar’wen and myself alright,” Gr’ant asked and motioned that they should follow the class at least.

“We were originally going to spend only a few days,” F’link replied, “But upon arriving one of the golds who came along, Anyath, took to flight.”

“That was Anyath!?” the white rider asked his brother, “Who flew her?”

“Not surprisingly, Sakabatouth,” F’link chuckled, “As much as Gemtia scowled at T’lcin it was pretty obvious that they’d end up together… even if it was only because of their dragons… though I think they’ll stay together. He’s always been her defender since Weyrling Training… not that she needed it of course.”

“So you’re staying till the hatching of Anyath’s clutch then,” Gr’ant stated.

“Well no… you see Aisu’s Akemith is libel to fly if we returned to our time at this very minute,” F’link replied sheepishly, “Just like Anyath did… also my Akaneth is at that stage too… so we’re waiting until the last of our dragon’s clutches hatch… we could be here around a turn or so.”

“Man and I though I’d be the same age as you when I got back,” Gr’ant replied ruefully.

“Ah, you’d still be my little brother no matter what,” F’link replied.

“So you looking at the possible chasers for Akaneth yet?” Gr’ant asked with a grin.

“I only just got here,” F’link replied in mock exasperation and then a huge grin appeared on his face, “Yeah… looks like I’ll be having some good times on this extended visit.”

“I’ll inform the rest of the class that if they hear loud noises anytime during the day that sound human it’s you then,” Gr’ant replied with a grin. Both brothers laughed at the joke, even if it might have been highly true. F’link couldn’t wait till the flight, and though the green wouldn’t admit it, Akaneth couldn’t either.
