![]() “Ya’ know, Vaz,” Maniki started. Yes I know, they are very handsome dragons. and their riders aren’t bad looking either! the green pairing giggled as they watched the males perform before them. Whether it was consciously or otherwise, the pair enjoyed the show greatly. Vazilth sighed dreamily and visions of eggs appeared in her head. Maniki looked up started as the visions her dragon was having appeared in her’s as well. “VAZ!” the 18 turn old shouted slightly frightened by the vision. What? Am I not old enough to have a clutch of my own, even if our weyr only allows me one Yes but, Vaz… Niki, you and I both know that my time to fly will be coming soon. You also made sure that I didn’t chew firestones long ago. But… Niki, you know you’ve wanted this for so long, you saved yourself for this reason. Maniki bit her lip, sometimes she didn’t like it that Vazilth could see into her thoughts. She looked at her green, who seemed a bit brighter than usual, and sighed. The thought of perhaps having a friendly, if not more so, relationship with somebody other than her dragon might do her a lot of good. “Well a lot of the guys are friendly,” Maniki smiled shyly, “and like I said, they’re not bad looking at all.” Maniki trailed off as a blue rider glided by and waved to them; she blushed visibly and was just glade that the rider had been far enough away not to get a good look. Then it’s settled, you shall talk to Weyrwoman Alora immediately and have me put on the boards. Maniki blushed deeper. “I guess we will,” she smiled, and she started to walk forward. Vazilth’s head suddenly got in her way. Niki, we’re on the fourth level of the Weyr, do you actually want to try to fly without me? the green chided and Maniki remembered that since a few sevendays back they had moved into a much larger weyr higher up. “I knew that,” Maniki giggled sheepishly. Get on, rider mine. I know where the Weyrwoman is and will take you there safer than your two legs ever will. Traitor! Am not! Are too! Not! Too! the duo bickered playfully.
Maniki nerviously walked away from Weyrwoman Alora. The greenrider looked about her, there were a number of male riders looking at her she was sure of it. There were others who were watching Alora make her way over to the flight boards and add a name. Maniki tried to ignore the feeling of being a peice of meat set before a Watch-Wher. Sure a number of the riders only nodded to her and smiled, yet she could feel the hair stand up on the back of her neck at some of the riders stares. They knew. Of course they know, I've told their dragons that they'd never be able to catch me. And they never will. Only the strongest flier will ever catch me. Vazilth greeted her rider. Maniki chuckled and shook her head, A clever fellow could win just as easily, love. Maniki chuckled. Clever or not they will still have to catch me, Vazilth, queen of speed! Don't let the Queens hear you call yourself a queen, you could get in deep trouble from that. The green snorted defiantly and smiled down at her rider. I want to practice my stuff, Niki, get on. Maniki chuckled and complied with her dragon, she'd be one green hard to catch. But then every dragon and thier rider always thought that.
Maniki blew at some of her sandy brown hair, which had evaded the strip of leather she’d tied up the majority of heir hair with. Ah, well so was the way it’s always been; no matter how many times she’d tried or even when another tried for her, her hair pony tail was always in a mess. Still she’d been told countless times that it actually looked good on her. Once again the green rider looked down at the large emerald that she was determined to make into a miniature dragon. Her model for the miniature was at that very moment was on the feeding grounds watching as males seemed to make a show of winging down to catch their prey. A purr escaped the small green’s muzzle. They are all quite charming, the green rumbled as two blues that had taken up her total interest spiraled close by. Maniki closed her eye and took a look at the duo that had captivated her dragon. “I can tell the one on the right’s your clutch mate, Farpoth, G’dion’s blue, but who’s the other,” Maniki asked curiously though she returned her eyes to the piece before her. That, my young inexperienced rider, is Omvreth, J’vino’s blue, two clutches my Junior. the proddy green grinned as she could feel Minki’s anger well up inside of her at the comment of her inexperience. Hey it wasn’t her fault that because people had a tendency to use her she’d gained a temper and when guys finally started to find her attractive she scared them off. As of her impression of Vazilth though she’d found that people were not really trying to use her anymore. “J’vino?” Maniki asked after a moment, “I’ve heard that name before… but where from and what was it about?” Vazilth turned her glowing head towards her rider, as Maniki for a moment walked out to the weyr’s ledge to look at her green, a smirk evident in her many facetted eyes as they meet the 18 turn old’s smile light green eyes. I think I know why you’ve heard of him. Omvreth has just been telling me about J’vino’s usual prefances; what an honor. Maniki tilted her head at this just as Omvreth seemed to give a wing wave at Vazilth before snagging one of the smaller heardbeasts for a small snack. Food sounded good right now and something told her that her green wouldn’t give up her information just yet. Shaving off just a bit more of the emerald from what was to be the neck of the beautiful green dragon that would appear from the gem, Maniki set the piece down and walked down the stairs towards the dinning area. He has preferred other men for a long time, a voice suddenly entered her mind halfway down the stairs. Maniki stumbled at hearing the voice in her head so suddenly. Instinctively she looked out a window that open up to have a fair look at the feeding grounds. There the same blue who’d caught Vazilth’s attention sat with a kill in his claws looking up at her with whirling eyes. That is Omvreth, Niki. the green clarified. Thanks, Vaz, Maniki replied and then tried communicating with the blue, You mean your rider, J’vino? You’ve heard of him already? That is a good thing… Isn’t it? I guess so, Omvreth. Is there another reason you’re telling me this? Maniki asked as she walked down the stairs and entered the hall way that would lead to the dinning area. The blue stayed silent for a time. He’s conversing with his rider. Vazilth told her. He doesn’t think much of women; he’s had a high liking in the male body. Do you think you could talk to him, I think he’d change his mind if you did? Well I guess I could do that if you wish to give him something to go on for another female’s flight. I was going to have him sign up for Vazilth’s. the blue stated startling Maniki. She slowed her pace for a moment and then a light smirk trailed onto her lopsided mouth. “That’s very flattering, Omvreth,” she smiled, “so where is he for me to talk to him.” He is in the dinning room. I believe the Headwoman will be near him when you apporch. the blue replied and didn’t speak again after that. Maniki shrugged and walked into the room. She grinned as she spotted Headwoman Irita chided a young man a few turns older than herself. Might as well cause him a bit of trouble. He doesn’t want to be in this flight then I’ll just give him a little bit of my mind the girl thought and walked over as J’vino got up and took another seat away from the ranting woman. The way the young man was hunched over she had a feeling Omvreth was conversing with him. He leaned back and for a moment she thought he was going to spot her and at least acknowledge her, but instead she found his eyes closed. Omvreth is still speaking with him. Vazilth told her seeming to be bored by what her rider was doing. She chuckled at this and sat down eating a few piece of food as she waited. Her vision returned to the young man as she noticed a change in his features and his head jerked slightly as his eyes snapped open and looked at her. From just his glance she could tell he wasn’t quite convinced in something and she was sure it was about her being a woman that his blue was determined to make him bed and like it. “And what is wrong with being a woman then?” Maniki surprised herself by purring out the words. But then the young man was fairly attractive, she thought as she narrowed her eyes to study the blue rider before her. She watched as his eyes widened and his face went pail. Fear twisted into his features at the same time but also something in the back of his eyes told her that she had his full and utmost attention that usually only green-riding males got; deep down something told her even male riders never got this reaction out of him. “Oh scorch it all man...I know how much Omvreth is infatuated with Vaz... and he thinks telling her everything is the next to best thing than telling you,” Maniki let a chuckle escape her as she continued to look him up and down, she didn’t even feel the need to brush away the teasing locks of hair which caressed her cheeks down to her strong jaw; she winked impishly. I think you’re getting to like this too much. the green woofed from the hunting grounds as she got up and stretched her limbs. Maniki ignored the true remark and watched as J’vino, seemingly too nervous to answer started to smile. For a moment her light green eyes thought that they’d seen his skin darken slightly but then you couldn’t always tell with tans. “Vazilth thinks it’s an honor that your dragon tells such good things…” Maniki trailed off not really knowing what she was going to say after that. The teasing was starting to remind her of things done to herself… but then those teases were not related to anything dragonic or even about loving, they were mainly about her; the people who pretended to have a liking for her and then would tease her behind her back or to her face. They were lower than her now though, and something that was to be forever forgotten. In this time she’d held his eyes, he would be an interesting one, even if Vazilth wasn’t flown by his Omvreth. She pulled her eyes away finally huffing shyly. I’m finished here can you accompany me back to our weyr? Vazilth finally asked. “Well… Vaz needs to be escorted to her weyr,” Maniki rolled her eyes animatedly, withholding a chuckle at the goofy smile that was fixed to the blue rider’s features. With a flick of her wrist she walked off knowing full well that he was entranced with her yet not fully convinced that he was will to be with a woman. He will someday, the green told her rider as she walked up and mounted her dragon. Best of luck to him if Omvreth doesn’t win then. Her green rumbled in agreement.
That night Maniki sat at her table looking at the finished miniature dragon made of emerald green with sapphire blue eyes. As she looked at it she knew that it seemed to need a mate… but what color would she make him. The emerald is me, isn’t it, my rider? Vazilth asked from her stone couch, two of her three eyelids cover her faceted eyes. “Well, you’re the model for it, so yeah, I guess so,” Maniki replied looking at her dragon. Well, then you’ll have to wait till I fly to know so come to bed, we mustn’t be as sleep deprived as that rider of Omvreth’s. Maniki chuckled, Vazilth was right, J’vino had looked a bit sleep deprived. Truth be told she was dead tired. As if I were drunk… I think, the green rider mentally noted to herself before gently falling into her bed only to be dreaming deeply moments later; her dragon was quick to follow suit. Little did either know that Vazilth’s dreams would be chaotic not even to end when she woke the next morning.
Swirls of blue and brown drifted though the dream world. A flash of green and bits of crimson suddenly appeared slightly apart from the brown and blue swirls. The green turned into a brightly whirling swirl and suddenly started to zip across the dream world the brown and blue swirls followed. The swirls’ race continued for a long time. Then just as there were only two different colored blue swirls and one brown swirl still following the green swirl: Why is this sharding weyr so small. I deserve larger! Why is this in here?!?! Ga!… I’m not being unreasonable!!… Well scorch you!!! Scorch every dragon in this sharding Weyr!!!! The snarling voice of Vazilth woke Maniki with a start! What in the world? the green rider yawned and walked towards her dragon’s part of the weyr. What she found there was staggering. Vazilth had some how managed to rip claw marks into the sides of the weyr. A small, table which had been set up for when Maniki would use her dragon as a model for small dragonriding trinkets, was merely a pile of wood on the floor. “Vaz, Vaz… What’s wrong?” Maniki asked. The raging dragon didn’t even answer, and the green rider knew quite well why she did; she already knew the answer to her own question. Vazilth was rising and there was nothing short of death or Threadfall that would cause her to stop her frenzy. Well at least I’ll know what to make the mate of the figure soon. Maniki thought dryly as Vazilth looked like a feline streaching. With a sudden agility, rarely seen out of Threadfall, Vazilth sprang from her weyr unfurling her wings, down stroking twice. This is my Weyr! I am queen and not one of you she growled as she surveyed her Weyr and her eyes rested upon the blues and brown below who already blooded. or your sharding riders are worthy of me and my Maniki! She hissed as a blue took a small herdbeast to blood and he gave her room as she dove on a small buck. Maniki was no longer in her weyr, she didn’t even know that her room was now filled with a number of male riders, their dragons all ready to try and fly her’s. Instead, Maniki felt herself standing next to Vazilth, if not sitting between the last two neck ridges of her dragon. Vazilth snarled as she lowered her head, tongue lapping greedily over the screaming beast, to… eat??? “Blood it… Blood it my beauty!” Maniki felt herself cry out. Why should I? I want to eat, I feel so empty! the dragon’s warbling cry came back loudly drowning out any noise that she could tell was coming from inside her own weyr. Would you like those old worn down wherry-cocks to catch you so easily, my lovely Vaz? The dragon snorted at the same time as cracking the herdbeast’s back, killing it instantly. The mental battle took place for a few moments more, then the green finally set her fangs to the dead buck’s neck and drank deeply of the energy giving blood. Give me MORE! Vazilth growled as he lashed out at another herdbeast killing it instantly. Again she tried to eat meat instead of blooding. Release your hold on me, Niki! I must eat! No you must blood, oh queen of speed. Maniki smirked as she found her dragon’s slight weakness in a mating flight. To be called a queen when he was merely a small green caused her small ego to enlarge by 20 times. Vazilth greedily blooded the beast. She lashed out once more and growled at the dead fowl. A wherry… Good sized… but no it’s unworthy to help me in my flight! she hissed as she nuzzled the unmoving food. Do you really think you can catch me, my handsome males? she called out lovingly as she lifted her head. Disdain croons and warbles answered her, some scorning while answering her challenge others complimenting her in answer to her challenge. Her eyes whirled madly as she felt what every female before her and long after her would feel. With a challenging scream she launched off the ground. The race was on!
Back on the ground, Maniki’s could only see the dragons. She was one with Vazilth and so were the riders as they tried their best to instruct their lifemates where to go and what to do. Seeing the dragon-humans coming closer to her, she hissed echoing Vazilth’s own reaction to the real dragons. It was great fun as she dashed about dodging the sweaty bands of dragon-humans and still tease, they had no idea what they’d be getting into… then again neither did the green rider. As one by one rider came to their senses, Maniki gave and unworldly cry of victory. At times she even chased the men out of her weyr. Later, it was possible that she may remember the event or perhaps her spouse would and it would be a good laugh. But for now, the memories of the moment were only known to those who it was preformed on. They’re starting to bore me. OK, time for a change of pace! the green stated to herself though her rider could hear her loud and clear. Giving a crow she folded her wings to her back and dove down exilerated as the last three dragon, a brown and two blues, followed her. She veered back up and a bulge sounded in front of her startling her. One of the blues had not followed but stayed above instead of playing the game. TRAITOR! CHEATER! Vazilth snarled as she managed to zip past the blue, his wings flared out as he bellowed as she passed, and just above him. You will pay! she snarled as she dove once more, this time directly at the blue. Vaz, you’re at the wrong angle! Pull up!! Maniki cried out mentally to her dragon. Vazilth crowed in disappointment as she realized her rider was right. The blue’s wings flared out once more as he caught the angered green. On the ground and in the air both, green and rider, were struggling madly. Vazilth trying to break free of the blue’s strong hold by clawing and trying to bite; Maniki on the other hand was screeching for a time as if she were the dragon, and not Vazilth, trying to release herself from the grasp of the young man who had cornered her. Both were loosing their battle as the blue’s tail wrapped about his green lovingly. Crooning in pleasure at Vazilth he coaxed her neck to it’s full length. Only the quickest, strongest, and most cleaver can catch me! Vazilth stated still struggling through her eyes turned sly as her wings reached to meet the blues. You are all these and so worthy of me, Omvreth. As if planed on the end of her statement their wings touched and they glided, Omvreth leading them in loving spirals above the weyr.
Maniki still struggled on the ground, she almost felted like she had been lain back into her body as she heard a loving sigh and she was embraced by the blue rider who kissed her deeply. Only mildly did she notice the closing of her weyr’s door as the last two riders left. The kiss was ended oddly and she could feel the rider’s hesitation. Maniki’s eyes snapped open and what she found before her surprised her, at the same time as pleased her. He was looking at her as if she might turn away. “J’vino…?” she started but was cut off by a kiss from him again as he lifted her to position the two of them better. She could feel the strength in him, something that he shared with his handsome blue. “Yes my dear?” he replied only to be stopped by a kiss from the green rider, just as strong as his own. She couldn’t help it, something about him just made her want to stay with him. His kisses were almost like an addictive drug and she wanted, need more of them, him. “I thought…” she continued, wrapping her arms around J’vino’s neck, as yet another kiss stopped her talk. She leaned back in the kiss and felt herself being swept away. “Well, my dear Maniki… Customs change…” he smiled winking impishly at his weyrmate. Maniki chuckled back before they were swept away in the passion of their dragons.
Looks as if you’ll be using a blue sapphire with emerald green eyes. Vazilth’s sleepy voice stated in one of the times that Maniki woke up though she didn’t open her eyes. “Looks like,” Maniki agreed as she curled up to the warm sleeping body next to her sighing happily. She had what she’d wanted for some time, it just hadn’t been stated who would be the lucky one to have her.
