In the inner weyr M’rec rolled over, still on the edge of sleep. So it was a surprise when he found his arm coming into contact with another body, and one that was not clothed in the least bit. Did I have too much to drink last night, the red rider contemplated without opening his eyes. His unknown bed warmer started to cuddle him and he stiffened at the warmth he felt. “I know you’re awake, Tam,” an all too familiar voice chuckled in his ear. The red rider’s eyes snapped open to find a sunset haired man next to him, or at least anybody else might have mistaken his new bed partner for a man. The feeling under the sheets however, which he was trying hard not to concentrate on told him that this person was defiantly a woman, not to mention he’d known her for the past eleven turns. “Yui,” he yelped and everything that happened late in the day the day before came spiraling back to him. Rysenth had flown… Lyruth gave chase… Lyruth caught Rysenth… Yui is my… M’rec trailed off in a bit of a spurt of shyness. “That’s the reason I knew you were awake, Tam,” Yui smiled slyly and tapped him on the nose, “The moment I tried cud… er, adjusting myself to your new position you started turning the color of your dragon.” “I didn’t expect it,” M’rec replied in a bit of defense. Yet you’ve wanted this for quite some time. Lyruth smirked at his rider, his tail twitching until it was caught by his mischievous green mate’s tail. “Interesting surprise,” Yui replied with a bit of a blush. “A nice one,” M’rec replied shyly offering a spot for Yui to come closer to him. Yui seemed to be shy about the new relationship as well but was quick to find a spot in the red rider’s embarrass. The moment seemed to signal the feeling of sleep once again though this time both would remember when they woke.

Yui and M’rec blinked. “But Ryslen’s got some of the biggest hatching grounds of any of the worlds that hatch dragons,” M’rec frowned, “I mean you’ve had two Flurry clutches on the sands.” “Yes, M’rec,” Jeyann replied appoligenicly, “but that’s one of the few times that the mothers of clutches will tolerate more than two other clutching dragons on the sands with them. As it is right now there will be three clutches on the sands when Rysenth will be coming close to clutching herself.” “What are we supposed to do then?” Yui replied, worried for her dragon, “Seiryuu’s sands are occupied by Maniki’s green only just yesterday. She’ll be there for at least another month for sure and my Rysenth will need a place to lay her eggs before then.” Jeyann nodded understandingly and sifted through the pile of hides and papers before her. Finding the one she was looking for she quickly read it over once again to be sure she was remembering it correctly. “The sands at the Moire Protectorate are looking for a dragoness to take to the sands within the next few weeks,” Jeyann told them, “I’m sure they’d welcome Rysenth with open arms.” Both riders were a bit unsure of the idea. It is fine by us, my rider. As long as my weyrmate has a place to clutch and candidates to impress to her children we will be fine. Lyruth told his rider in a fatherly fashion that up until a few sevendays back would have seemed totally unlike him. Fatherhood does you well, Lyruth, M’rec commented as he looked down at Yui who seemed to be getting a similar message from Rysenth. “Our dragons seem content with the idea,” Yui replied, “but I’m pretty sure M’rec’s never been there cause I sure haven’t.” “Always the blunt one,” M’rec commented eyeing Yui playfully. “Yep!” Yui quipped loudly causing Jeyann and M’rec to wince. “I’ll have Mezireth give your dragons the coordinates when you’re ready to leave,” Jeyann replied, happy that they had come to a compromise, “I’ll send word that you’ll be arriving to see about a place for Rysenth’s clutch to be lain and hatched.” With bows to the Weyrwoman of Ryslen the duo left.

“Time for you to play messenger, Smoclo,” M’rec grinned at the blue rubbing his eye ridge before starting to write a message. Who do you write to? Lyruth asked his rider while eyeing a male that seemed too close to his green mate. Easy boy, M’rec joked and the red mentally glared at his bonded, We’re here to see Rysenth’s clutch through, we don’t need a war between this world and Seiryuu Weyr on account you didn’t like the way another male was looking at your mate. Lyruth snorted at the notion but dropped as his curiosity of the letter got the better of him once again. Who is it to? “I thought I’d tell Quachir to expect us after the hatching of Rysenth’s clutch,” M’rec replied to his red. “Finally!” Yui shouted happily, suddenly locking her taller weyrmate in a tight hug, “I thought you’d never decide to go home.” “I’ve not been able to call it home yet,” M’rec replied sending Smoclo off with the letter. The red rider loosened his weyrmate’s grip enough to embrace her as well, “I hope to do so soon though.” He the started off to check if things were in their correct places before eyeing Yui, or precisely the riding goggles that had been a part of her features for turns on end. “Don’t you ever take those goggles off, Yui?” M’rec’s icy blue eyes flashed playfully. “Of course I do,” she quipped with the familiar banter that had gone on all their lives, “When I bathe… oh and there is that other times.” “Other times?” M’rec replied huskily though he tried to make his features innocent to his weyrmate. “Yes, you’ve seen me without them a few times now,” Yui replied with a bit of a tease. “Really? I’m not sure if I’m thinking of the right times,” M’rec replied coming closer to her. Yui started to reply with Smoclo burst into the room squawking about a thick hide he’d come back with. Both riders glared at the flit for ruining the moment. Sighing M’rec called the flit to him and took the hide-letter that was attached. Quickly he read over the note. He read it again and frowned. “What is it?” Yui asked, “What’d Chir say?” “She’s requesting that Lyruth and I go to Cy Dragonstake” M'rec replied, "She says they’re in need of males that are red or partially white for a winter frenzy they’re having.” “But she knows Lyruth just flew Rysenth,” Yui replied shocked. “She thought that would be our reactions,” M’rec remarked pointing at the evidence of his statement, “She seems to think that he needs only to participate and the flight will mean nothing in mating aspects. Damn HAD knows how Lyruth feels towards Rysenth, she’s confident that he’ll still be loyal to her despite the results of the Frenzy.” “When Chir bets she’s rarely wrong,” Yui replied knowingly. “True, but this is going to raise Lyruth’s ego again,” M’rec replied. I am Lord Lyruth am I not? “No you’re not.” “What do you think of the subject, Rysenth,” Yui asked aloud. I believe he will be fine, it will keep him out of my tail for a short time Hey! Just don’t fall for any of them or you will fine darker red marks upon your back when you return. The red for once shrank at Rysenth’s words and she looked smug about it. “Are you alright with it then?” M’rec asked of his weyrmate. Yui seemed to be thinking and speaking with Rysenth in private for the time being. “I’m fine with it,” Yui replied, “Only because Rysenth says she can handle herself alone her for the short time that it should be till the flight” “You‘re coming with?” “I got you now I’ll be damned if somebody takes my place in your bed before Rysenth’s clutch hatches,” Yui growled in determination. M’rec blinked in surprise, he wouldn’t argue the subject even if he wanted too. “I guess will be off to Cy Dragonstake then soon,”
