An exception to the above "sameness" is the first newsstand book, Visitor Vs. Valiant Universe #1, which differed from the Direct Market Edition in three ways. First it had a "normal" cover versus the "card stock" of the Direct Market edition. Second it was cover priced at $2.50 versus $2.95 for the Direct Market edition. Finally it had a UPC Bar Code obscuring the "Why Must He Die?" portion of the Direct Market cover.
The Newsstand Edition of Visitor Vs. The Valiant Universe #2 was also minus the cardstock cover and price forty-five cents less than the Direct Market edition.
A third (and thus far final) exception book is Destroyer #0. Like VisVsValU #2, the Newsstand version did not have the Card Stock Cover and was priced forty-five cents less than the Direct Market Edition.
Note: a "variant" of Bloodshot #31 exists where eight pages were left out of the book at the printer. This is hardly a collectable (anyone can open the staples and pull pages out of any book!) but beware if you are buying a "Newsstand" copy of Bloodshot #31 and make sure that the book is complete.
