Here you have some Tolkien-based Pics

These images were all taken from the World-Wide Winchester. I have arranged the images separating the pictures by authors, and tried to group them cronologically, according to the story, although I dont have the book with me, which has made my task much more difficult. Hope you enjoy it.
Oh, why do I seem to have this predilection for Alan Lee??? Well, he is the one who illustrates the "The Lord Of The Rings Centenary Edition", as well as "The Hobbit's 60th Anniversary Edition", and because of that, I think, his images are MUCH easier to be found. At least the book's ones. Besides, he is assigned to be one of the conceptual artists for the upcoming "The Lord Of The Rings" movie, along with John Howe. Well, this is important, because the movie scenario, mood, etc will be based on Lee and Howe's ideas, so let's get used to their concept of Tolkien's world!!!! I particularly like Howe's style, although I have too few images from him. Please, if you have some, send me, so I can increase the collection!!! Now take a look at their art and begin to get ready to this movie trilogy, about which is being said that will be for medieval fantasy what Star Wars is today for Space Opera.
The first episode is expected for being released in Dec 2000, and the next two in 2001. All we can do for now is to wait... and maybe imagine what will be done with the help of these artists whose work is shown below...

 Alan Lee pics:

As you can see, there are lots of pics from Alan. My votes for 'best ones' goes to The Battle for Helm's Deep, Orthanc and Minas Tirith... a shame we can't see the whole city....

 John Howe's pics:

The Nazgûl and Glorund ones are my favorites here. Check out that water!!! Seems like it's real! I'd like to meet Howe someday to tell him how much I admire his art...  Actually, the few paintings I've seen from Howe have attracted me more than Alan's stuff, but that doesn't mean I don't like Alan's art!!! He's got a high ranking for me... well, Alan's Orthanc is... well.... outstanding, stupendous, magnificent, gigantic, superb... and if you know some stronger words to describe it, let me know...
