Gregory and Aanparon slowly come to consciousness. Pain fills their worlds and they think to themselves that perhaps unconsciousness was not all that bad. They open their battered and bruised eye to see that they are lying on the ground by the cookfire. Ganthanor is puttering around the cauldron that is on the fire seemingly making dinner. There is a former cook (Gregory's opponent) lying near them, still unconscious.
Gregory stands and checks his weapons and the situation he sees that he still has all of his weapons, though they are a bit dirtied as well as Gregory himself from their association with the ground. He sees Adriena lying on the ground near the wagons. He can not see Malis anywhere. Red Tusk is back at his post swinging the woman over the fire and near the jaws of the huge hungry lizards. Gregory swings his arms around and visibly winces at the number of aches and bruises that cover his arms, legs and ribs. Gregory begins heading towards Adriena to see if she is okay.
Aanparon may be awake, but he is barely alive he decides that he won't be moving for some time. He just lie there, with his eyes closed trying to let the flashes of pain lessen before he tries anything strenuous, like opening his eyes. Aanparon listens intently though trying to deduce what is going on in the camp around him.
The weight on Malis lessens then disappears. A few seconds later her body becomes her own again. Her arms buckle from the strain on them and she fall all the way on the ground. She looks down to see that her robe is hiked up to her waist and her leggings are around her ankles. She sees Adriena lying on the ground, she has a dagger in her hand. Malis then sees that her warhammer is across the campsite where she was initially frozen. Haratai is sitting on the wagon, his tusks quite pronounced as he is grinning from ear to ear.
Malis stands and straightens our her clothing and armor. She moves across the camp to pick back up her warhammer. She links up with the approaching Gregory and the two of them move over to inspect Adriena. They see that she has a strong pulse and a bruise on her left temple. Nodding to himself Gregory heads towards Red Tusk.
Everyone's attention focuses on Gregory. He walks towards the campfire that Red Tusk is having his fun at and draws his sword and dagger. After a moment Red Tusk notices Gregory and begins to laugh, "Enough cook, I have no time for jokes, go fix my dinner.." Gregory doesn't move, (and doesn't understand what was said) and finally Red Tusk laughs again and says, "That is the way you want it huh? I personally would have wanted to see another night myself."
Red Tusk motions to one of his flunkies to hold the woman's feet and draws his longsword. He moves over to Gregory and a crowd of orcs quickly gathers around the two. Surprisingly all of the orcs are dead silent. Not anything like the fights before. Haratai moves on his wagon to watch the duel, his smile widening even more.
Gregory strikes first with his sword and his blade causes a large cut on Red Tusk's leg. Red Tusk returns the blow, Gregory's dagger is too slow to block Red Tusk's blade as it scores a deep cut along Gregory's ribs. Gregory feels very weak and faint from his previous beatings and this grievous wound.
Ignoring his wound Gregory painfully straightens and continues the fight. Both Gregory and Red Tusk strike at the same time. Both of their blades draw blood. Gregory’s longsword hits home on Red Tusk’s left side. Blood flows freely from the wound. Red Tusk’s sword drives deep into Gregory’s stomach. Gregory’s knees go weak and then buckle. Gregory falls to his knees, his vision turning black, his sword and dagger dropping from his numb fingers. As the light begins to fade Gregory feels himself being drawn up, too weak to lift his head, his chin rests on his chest. His last sight is a pair of tusks coming towards him....then...there is nothing...
Red Tusk hauls Gregory up and drives his tusks deep into Gregory’s chest staining them red with Gregory’s blood. Red Tusk rips at Gregory’s chest with his tusks and then drops the lifeless body. Red Tusk reaches down and plucks out Gregory’s heart like an apple from a tree. Gazing down at the still beating organ, Red Tusk smiles an evil smile and bites into it. Blood runs down his chin and onto his shirt as he devours the delicate fruit.
Red Tusk waves his hand and the surrounding orcs move forward tearing at the body. They remove all of the clothing and equipment from it and lift up the mound of flesh. They haul the corpse over to the giant lizards and toss it towards them. It doesn’t take long for the lizards to feast and devour their meal.
