But this girl has a "past",
be it true or fake.
Others say nothing will last,
only your heart will break.

Makes one wonder if it's true,
or if the story has more.
Maybe there's more than they knew,
something that could even the score.

Maybe the girl turned a boy down,
this was more than his ego could deem,
So the rumors started going around,
you understand what that means.

Though girls get hurt as well as boys,
so maybe now she doesn't feel ready.
Content to play with her toys,
and sleep with her bear, Teddy.

Until the day she can feel safe,
to crawl from under her shell.
When she knows her heart won't be strafed,
when she leaves her small prison cell.
