This rock, the rock of Rouche, which in French means the rock of
pigeons, is located just off the shore of the capital Beirut. I used to pass by it
everyday as I went to school. Isn't it pretty?
The cedars of Lebanon, which appear on the
national flag as well as the currency, are well known throught history. Their wood was
famous for its excellent quality, durability and beautiful fragrance, making Lebanon a
major trading center around the world. But because of the heavy cutting of the trees, they
are pretty rare nowadays, leading to many strict laws against harming them. The cedars of
Lebanon are believed to be the only original cedars and the source of many other species
of it world-wide. It is a pride to have them in Lebanon and yes, that white stuff is snow! |

A few points of clarification:
- Lebanon is located in the Middle East, on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea.
- Lebanon is the only country in the Middle East that has absolutely no desert!
- Lebanon has no terrorists! It is 100% safe. In fact, it is the safest
place I have been to out of many countries. There have been a few incidents during a
historic civil war but that is long gone. Heck, even the United States had a civil war!
- Lebanon is a beautiful and wonderful country with a delicious national dish and a very
interesting history from the time of the Roman Empire. You can see the many historical
sites and ancient castles and enjoy the comfortable and moderate climate. Come get some!
