The Years 0-4: The Age of
Creation
This is the dawn of the time which is used by all the inhabitants
of Ilnyaupe. The planet of Ilnyaupe is the result of the great wizard Wazoo's
amusement. Wazoo decided it would be fun to make a planet in the center
of the prime material plane and see what, if any, magical disturbances
occur there. Wazoo was from Galantri®, a country in Mystara®.
Galantri is a very powerful city which is full of powerful wizards, but
we will not dwell on that because that is a TSR created world. For several
years, wazoo kept watch over the planet and that is the last anyone ever
heard of him. Wazoo's diappearance caused many rumors. One is that he went
to live on his planet, another is that the tarrassque ate him. Nothing
about him from that point on has been proven.
The Years 5-46? : The Age of
Life
During this era humans, gnomes, elves, dwarves, monsters,
and all sorts of other races came to Ilnyaupe. The years are not known
because many races came at different times, although the times could not
have varied widely, according to the sages, because no one race was more
developed than any other. Not even what part of the planet they lived in
is known, although today all their descendants live in what is known as
the known world. The wisest sages have been able to gather information
using magic from these people's past. The sages say that the new immigrants
founded three countries by the year 57. These were : Galava, Darokin,
and Palaodrin. Note : the name of Darokin is from TSR's Mystara setting.
If anyone has problems with this, contact me and
I will change it. The sages are unsure as to where each country
existed on the maps of the present known world.
The years 47- circa 250 : The
Age of Development
The year 47, in Galava :
Galava was founded by a human fighter named Serg. He gave himself the
title of King. He taxed his residents much causing many uprisings to take
place under his rule. His high taxes caused his subjects to name him King
Serg the Terrible. King Serg the Terrible died at the age of 45 after ruling
for 20 years.
The year 67, in Galava :
In 67, one of the more important revolts happened: The revolt was an
attempted asasination. The king was in a parade on the festival of joy,
which takes place in every country (see calander). Two 15th level thieves
by the names of Elan and Delsora attempted to back stab King Serg. The
King, however, was not stupid and used much of his money gained from taxes
to hire competent bodyguards. These very body guards foiled the assasination,
capturing Delsora. The crowd distracted the body guards long enough for
Elan to escape. There are rumors that Delsora escaped the Court Prison,
but an official announcement from the King shattered many peasant hearts:
Delsora had been executed. To this day, not even magic has devined if Delsora
escaped, and there is no proof that she did.
The year 53, in Darokin :
A group of four 17th level bards who called themselves te Titaniums,
founded Darokin.
The year 76, near and in Darokin :
One of the first dwarves to enter Ilnyaupe, Thangor, was blessed with
the strong powers of the center of the prime material plane, and used those
powers to become the only dwarven druid. He formed a group of dwarves which
became unhappy with the rule of the bards in nearby Darokin. The dwarves
sent a group of dwaraves, which included Abe and Ike, 10th level fighters,
to build a dam on the Grek River, which flooded Darokin City, tha capitol
of Darokin. A city-wide evacutaion ensued and the city was soon rebuilt.
The dwaves did not try the flood again, and the Darokinians left them alone,
forgiving them. To this day, nobody can find the Grek River. Many sages
seem to agree that it must have dried out and the river basin eroded away
by wind.
The years 76-215, in Galava : Galava's Golden
Years
Galava became a very successful country between the years of 76 and 215.
Following the demise of King Serg the Terrible, his son, dubben King Yuih
the Golden, took the throne. This era is refered by sages as Galava's golden
years because the economy of Galava flourished. Bartering had always taken
place before, but there was no set currency. In 83, the fast growing economy
promted Yiuh the Golden to create a standar currency for all his subjects
to use. This is the longest lasting currency in all of Ilnyaupe. There
were the equivalents of gold pieces, called wood chips, and the equivalent
of siver, called stone pabbles. This currency system was also used as the
basis of all of the present day's currencies. Today, no civilized country
uses wood chips and stone pabbles, but most barbarians and savages located
in secluded areas of the three present day countries use this system. During
this time, Galava's population grew immensly, propelled by immigrants running
from Darokin's Dark Age. In 154, Yiuh the Golden died. That day (see calander)
is now a day observed by all three countries during which it is unlawful
to exchange currency, as Yiuh is seen as the father of money. Yiuh had
only a daughter who had been married by the time Yuih died to a prince
Hast, who became King Hast. Sages do not know what planet or world Hast
come from, the only thing that seems certain is that Hast was not a native
of Ilnyaupe. King Hast was not a very good king and the economy declined
slowly. However, most citizens of Galava had a large amount of wealth and
did not notice this demise in the lifestyle. King Hast passed away in 215.
The years 75-213, in Darokin : Darokin's Dark
Era
The Dark Era of Darokin, as it is called by sages, was started when the
last of the four founding bards was assasinated by Shiek Allmar. Numerous
uprsings happened during this era and many citizens of Darokin migrated
to Galava, which was in its prime around this time. One uprising took away
half of Darokin's land, and was reffered to as the Great Demise. The Great
Demise was masterminded by the anti-paladin Dreek, who is the reason why
anti-paladins are strongly hated throughout most of Ilnyaupe. Dreek named
the land he got from The Great Demise after himself. Dreek went on to become
a God, and is today's only anti-paladin diety.
The year 134, in Palaodrin :
A prince from Galavara, named Prince Elan the Great, sailed on a sea
to reach a new land. This land he named Palaodrin, meaning "land of
escape" in a long lost language. Sages suspect this is the same Elan
who attempted to assasinate King Serv the Terrible in 67, and that Palaodrin
was located on what is now commonly reffered to as Spice Island. Prince
Elan founded a monetary system that same year, based upon the wood chips
and stone pabbles of King Yiuh the Golden. The monetary system was by far
the most advanced yet developed. It consisted of Gold Rilks, which were
mined and are approxamatly equal to a gold piece, bonze agols, which are
equal to a silver piece, and iron tiks which were the equivalent of copper
pieces. Palaodrin prospered until Prince Elan the Great became a neutral
good diety in 756.
The years 245-248, in Dreek :
Dreek was abaondoned by its liberator in 245. Without a central ruling
body, Dreek became very unstable and its army suffered from many desertions,
weakening it. During the three years after abondonment, a record 236 uprisings
took place, none of which was very successful. In 248, Dreek was captured
by the Galavarian army, making Galava the largest of the three countries.
The years 214- circa 720, in Darokin : The
Bright Era of Darokin
After the Great Demise, Darokin's economy gained an unexpected boost. It
was temporarily haulted when a Green Wyrm dragon settled a couple miles
away from the capitol. The dragon was killed 17 years later by a man named
Ningauble, who has not been heard of since, but is assumed to be still
alive. The bright era of Darokin had nothing very exiting take place during
it.
The years circa 250- circa 720 : The
Age of Peace
This era had no major wars or uprisings. This is a good time to
use PCs in Ilnyaupe, but only if you figure out where each country is on
the map I made.. :) I will make a map of the known world of Ilnyaupe at
this time if enough people submit ideas for this time. I think several
short stories tracing someone's adventuring life would be good. If you
make such a thing, I will be happy to incorporate that same person into
the future of Ilnyaupe, as in farther down the timeline... :)
The years circa 720- circa 1150 : The
Age of Wars
The year 721, around the Rilles Mountain Range : The
Dwarf-Gnome War
In 721 the gnomes from the north decided to attack the Thangor dwarves
in the Rilles mountains, because the Rilles have a lot of gold and this
was a time when the gnomes were prosectuted throughout Ilnyaupe. The dwarves
wiped out the gnomes using a powerful artifact, explaining why there are
so little gnomes on Ilnyaupe today.
The year 867, in Galava : The Great Rift
Over taxing and a theft of the crown jewels of Galava, or the Great Golds
as they were called, caused a major revolt in Galava in the year 867. The
Pandrians, a fighting guild which still exists today masterminded the revolt.
A powerful fighter named Yast led the group in its revolt and in each resulting
country one of his high ranking guild members was appointed to rule. One
by one, each ruler was overthrown and Yast took over each country. Finally,
in 1187, Yast was assasinated by a very crafty assasin known as Bushquaf.
Bushquaf then took each country and made it a state in his Bushquaf
Territories.
The years 756-1208, in Palaodrin :
Documents from other countries show that Palaodrin sent out spies to
those countries. However, even the wisest sages have no idea why the spies
suddenly stopped being either discovered or sent out around the year 760.
It was at this time that Palaodrin stopped all immigration and nothing
was heard about the country again. Palaodrin soon became the most feared
country because nobody knew anything about it. Not even its location on
the current day maps of Ilnyaupe is known or speculated at.
The years 812-1208, in Darokin :
Darokin built the great city of Bluggart in the year 812 to train its
army and to produvce weapons for the army. Bluggart is particularly known
for its battering rams, which were made out of the highest quality wood,
allowing the battering ram to effectivly double its effectiveness as compared
to a normal battering ram. Some of these rams still exist today. Many have
been found and are prized by the countries which own them, but rumours
have it that there are a couple rams left unfound and a master ram
to be found. It is unknown if the rams are magical or not and no sage can
guess if the master ram exists, or what it might do if it does. These rams
and other arms made in Bluggart allowed Darokin to capture much of its
surrounding territories. Under its new emperor, the high Kringet, Darokin
rose to great power, but eventually got too big to handle and was split
into 3 separate countries in 834. The two countries that Kirnget did not
keep control over were immediatly captured. The third retained Darokin's
ruler and its name. With age, the emperor grew stupid and made many mistakes,
allowing a band of Paladins, who saw his rule as evil, take over. The group
called themselves the Heraldians of Good News and was led by the paladin
named Rikiel, who renamed Darokin after himself.
