When he was 8, Mike Hudson's parents died in a carcrash. Being adopted by his uncle on his fathers side he soon became the redicule of his older cousins. This has given him a slightly damaged self esteem and has led to that he avoids people whenever he can. The terror grew worse, and also spread to his new school were he was being chased on a daily basis. Then, one night when he was 14, he walked home from the schools library. Unbeknownst to him some of his chasers had hid in a park which he was forced to pass. But he wasn't the one who became most hurt. When he discovered the ambush he began to run, but in the darkness he didn't see where he was running and soon he tripped on some roots. This could have been the end of the story if it wasn't for two things. The activation of his latent firepowers, and the prescence of one teacher named Brad Henson, aka the Fist. He had been working late, and took the shortcut through the park when he saw what happened. When the attackers were closing in on the helpless Mike Brad decided that it was time to do something, and summoned his glowing hand and put it between Mike and his terrorizers. But the protective effect proved to be turned the other way. When Mike saw no way out stretched out his hands and shouted NOOO!! Then there was a bright light, followed by complete darkness and a slight smell of burnt grass. If it wasn't for the Fists prescence the other would propably be killed by Mike's blast of fire. Seing that this young man needed assistance, he introduced him to the King's Men, where he recieved some training. Using his contacts in the school, Brad got Mike into a boarding school close to London where he could be close to the rest of the group. When finished with his education he and the King's Men also split up, although they are still on a very friendly basis. After one or two years of single handed superheroing as the hero Firebug he was contacted by the Green Man of IST London. Here he continued his training, but he hasn't had the time to become a full-fledged member of the IST yet. (at least 75 percent of his earned character points must go into the IST package in the book Gurps I.S.T). In combat Firebug rarely uses his flamejet due to it's unreliability and the fact that he only can use it at full strength. Instead he uses smoke or flash to weaken his opponents and then tries to get into close combat and hopes that his martial arts-training combined with his body of fire will make the day. If fighting in a group he supports the other on his side and doesn't engage in combat himself.
