Guybrush Threepwood wants to be a pirate. To achieve this objective, he doesn't hesitate to go towards Mêlée Island, where he will have to go beyond three difficult trials: the theft, the treasure hunt and the skill with the sword. Along these trials he'll meet Governor Elaine Marley, whom will fall in love with desperately. But when Guybrush finishes his trials, he finds that Elaine has been kidnapped by the evil Ghost Pirate LeChuck. Then, he decides to rescue her by gathering a crew towards the legendary Monkey Island. There, he'll meet Herman Thoothrot, a lonely castaway, and the native cannibals, who will help Guybrush to fight against LeChuck. Although it is an old adventure, The Secret of Monkey Island is still one of the best examples of this kind of game. The graphics, even though notablely surpassed by all the current adventures, are a little jewel that has remained engraved in the memories of lots of nostalgic adventurers. Its imaginative and easy to follow plot is another outstanding point of The Secret of Monkey Island, as well as a riddles with an acceptable difficulty for any kind of public.
