Another whole-episode replacement for Heretic. From the canyons and huge fortresses of level one to the giant ice-bound town of level three, this whole episode is built on an epic scale. Not the most detailed Heretic levels I've ever seen, but impressive from their shear size. Also very difficult, even on the easier difficulty settings...

Impressive replacement for the whole of episode 1, featuring some amazing settings. Great looks, nice scenery, lots of new textures, and damned hard.

This is Rich's Heretic conversion of Stephen J. Wood's original Doom conversion of the original TSR Dungeons & Dragons module... You following me? Apparently White Plume Mountain is a cult amongst hard-core D&D fanatics.
The Heretic level is large, hard, full of puzzles and traps, and a bit of a pain at times. Some of the design doesn't make much sense - a bit more attention to detail would have been welcome, and it's way too dark in some areas. But it is fairly atmospheric, and the huge outdoor lava area with the maulotaur at the end is visually stunning.

Be Careful

The first new release for Heretic since my own Gestalt666's Town Of Heresy way back at the beginning of July. A few nice ideas and touches, but generally unremarkable. The reason it's called Be Careful is because its basically a puzzle level, with you having to walk along the Heretic equivalent of a tightrope to avoid falling to your death in a lava pool. Trying to complete this level without cheats is more of a pain than a pleasure...
