[List post on April 27, reproduced here for readers of the website version of EEFNEWS.]

Bibliographie Altägypten 1822-1946
Annual Egyptological Bibliography 1947-1997

In the second half of this year the two most comprehensive Egyptological bibliographies will be published in an electronic format which will greatly facilitate searching their contents for specific subjects or titles.

Together, the Bibliographie Altägypten 1822-1946, compiled by Christine Beinlich-Seeber, and the Annual Egyptological Bibliography span virtually the entire lifetime of Egyptology as a scholarly discipline, beginning with the publication of Champollion's Lettre ā M. Dacier in 1822.

The two bibliographies will be published on a CD-ROM with a user-friendly search program permitting sophisticated searches in both bibliographies simultaneously. The program allows searches for keywords, authors, serials or periodicals, and year of publication.

Additional features will include a number of specialized bibliographies, a database of book reviews, a full bibliographical index, and smart links to Internet booksellers.

The CD-ROM will include the AEB volume covering 1997, which will appear this summer. Updated versions will be published every two years.

The CD-ROM will be available at a price of Euro 99 or US$ 99.

Subscribers ordering before 15 May 2000 will receive a discount of 20%. In addition to the complete version they are entitled to a preliminary release which will be published some months prior to the complete edition.

Prices do not include mailing costs and bank charges. Residents of EU countries should add 17.5% VAT.

The price quoted above is for individual subscribers only. For institutions such as libraries a price of Euro 250 or US$ 250 is envisaged.

Subscribers will receive a pro forma invoice specifying the amount payable and manner of payment.

Please note: The CD-ROM will initially be available only in a PC-edition. A MacIntosh version is to be developed later.
