Cataclysm's Second Reason for Leaving

This is the biggest reason why I'm quitting. I'm just sick to death  by the lamers.

Well, what then is a lamer? Cataclysm's Dictionary describes lamers as:

lamers noun (plural)

1. Someone who constantly whines.

2. One that is lame.

3. Someone who steals people's hard worked ideas and makes it their own.

4. Someone with no life.

5. One that doesn't create things.

6. People who ask the stupidest questions.

Synonyms: Whiner, Begger, Dumb Ass, Idiot, Thief, Parasite, AOLers (Note: only the AOLers who TALK LIKE THIS :)

Antonyms: Cool guy, Awesome dude, Producer, Originalist

Lamers are everywhere. They are the ones who send me stupid mail. 80% of all the mail I get is from lamers. They ask me the stupidest things:

"PLEASE TELL ME THE CHEAT CODES IN RED ALERT!!!!!"

"I DeMaNaD YoU uPlOaD mY MaP OnTo YOuR WeBsItE"

"I HAVE AN AWESOME STRATEGY! ALWAYS SELL BUILDINGS YOU NEVER USE. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN AIRCRAFT LEAVE TO GO FIGHT THE ENEMY, SELL YOUR AIR FEILDS!!!! BOY, I AM JUST SOOOO SMART!"

As you can see above, Lamers' have a distinguished writing form. Sometimes they TALK   LIKE THIS or sometimes they TaLk LikE ThIs. Both are give aways that they are lamers but not all lamers talk like that.  The lamers who talk like that are usually the stupid ones. The smart lamers (excuse the oxymoron :) know to type normally but they act basically the same.

"I need the cheat codes for Red Alert! Give them to me by Thursday at the latest."

The above was actually written on the RA Maddness webboard. Although I don't recall the exact wording, that's basically it. Smart lamers are stupid, but not as idiotic as the dumb lamers. But still extremely stupid. :)

Yes, you are definetly confused. :)

What is the point of what I have listed above? To show you that lamers writing stupid messages don't bother me. I just laugh at them. They only affect me by I having a hearty laugh as I press the delete key on their message.

It wasn't until I started a RA add-on when the lamers started to affect me. From plagerzising my word document to stealing  images, Lamers took what wasn't theirs. The lamers would steal ideas I came up with and they called it their own. Why do the lamers steal? Because they can't create. They have to steal or else they wouldn't 'make' anything. Just to boost their ego they make an add-on which they made by stealing ideas from other people and other good add-ons. They call it their own and they think they're special.

How would you like to work on something for tons of hours just to have someone steal the idea and call it their own? They don't blatantly steal it by just cosmetically changing the text document and the titlescreen. No one is that stupid. They'd get caught too easily. Usually they steal parts of it and add it to their worthless bundle such as a unit or two. Lamers are simply parasites.

That's why the release of Red Alert Gold 1.3 has been delayed so much. I'm very hesitant to release it just so the lamers can hack it up and call it their own. 'But that doesn't matter. You should release it anyway and let the lamers take it. The lamers can't produce anything better, but just make it worse.' Very true, but they're still taking it aren't they? You expect me to stand back and just let them use the quality parts  of it for their own piece-of-sheet add-ons? An answer comes to mind, 'Hell no!'. I'd rather not release it at all then to have it stolen, hacked, and claimed by the lamers.

I understand how the cool people are waiting for it. RAGold 1.3 is a great improvement over RAGold 1.2. Its adds lots more gameplay. However those people aren't the only ones waiting for it. The lamers are waiting for it as well, just so they can steal the great things from it and put it in their own.

Sometimes I wonder who's worse: the lamers who steal ideas and products, or me for allowing them to steal it in the first place.

Companies fight rights to ideas and products all the time in court, but the Internet has no courts so the lamers are free to do as they please. In the real world, if you stole an idea or something then you'll get sued until you go bankrupt. Thank goodness for the creation of copyright, since that's the only protection people have. But copyrights are easy to get away with breaking on the Internet.

Think I'm going crazy? If you've ever made a quality product (add-on, website, etc.) for the internet then you'll know what I'm talking about. Lamers will come and whine and demand to you for more. One person emailed me saying, 'You have no right to stop RAGold at 1.3. I demand a 1.4 version because I am entitled to it.' Huh? I have no right to? I'm the one who started it in the first place, I have the right for it. What makes them entitled to it? Suggestions are fine, complaints are fine, questions are fine, whining is NOT fine nor is demanding. Once you put out a quality product onto the net, the lamers will swarm to feast on it, email you stupid stuff, demand things from you, and finally steal parts of the hard work you put into as they put it into their own 'product'.

So this is the main reason why I'm quitting. What's funny is that most of the lamers don't even know who they are. They don't have an ounce of common sense (although its obviously not common these days :)
