Human Spell Strategies
Fireball
Fireball sucks. It is the same thing a dragon shoots but it costs 100 mana. I have never seen any uses for this spell. Maybe if someone was dumb enough to put their guys on stand ground in a really long line.Slow
Slow is great to help counter bloodlust plus its really annoying to the other player. Try slowing peasants on wood or flying machines. They'll never get any resources. :)Flame Shield
Flame shield has some great strategies combined with other spells.- Cast invisibility on a peasant and then flame shield him. You can walk right through the enemies army and cause major damage.
- Another good idea is to cast it on the middle guy in a group of nine. Here's a good picture.
- Another great idea is to invis and flame shield an oil tanker. You can send it through the enemies ships who cannot shoot you without using attack ground or if they don't notice till too late.
Invisibility
Invisibility is great to use for sneak attacks. Invisible mages can totally destroy a town.Here is a great strategy to use. If you see the enemy has their town really packed together and has few catapults cast invisibility on a peasant. You can then send him into the town and build towers. If you build a few towers in between buildings, then build 2 or 3 layers of walls around them before upgrading you can destroy half their town or army. This is especially useful if their mine is empty and they are probably not watching their main town.
Polymorph
Polymorph is great to use against dragons. It kills them instantly and you will take no damage. Also if you are being attacked by bloodlusted ogres and have mages with mana after slowing them, poly them all. They can't kill you if they can't fight!Blizzard
Blizzard is the most potent spell in the game. It has so many uses to destroy the enemy. The magebomb and double blizzard are some of the best strategies to use with mages.To do the magebomb you need 1 mage with full mana and a group of enemies. Come close enough to them to hit them with a blizzard, but not close enough to be seen. Start a blizzard right in front of you. After about 3 casts cast one on the enemies and then start it back up in front of you. All of the enemies will charge you and walk right into the blizzard. Most of them will die. You will probably lose your mage, but they will lose more. If they have ballistas or archers cast it a little more in front of you so they can't sit outside of it and kill you from a safe distance.
The double blizzard requires two mages with full mana and a group of enemies. You cast the first blizzard in front of your mages. Then you have the other mage cast it once on the enemies and then start it up with the other blizzard. With two blizzard's raging the enemies will never make it through. This is great to do on sea levels. Use an invisible transport and pop a out 2 mages, do the double blizzard, and get back in. You can damage enemies without taking any damage.
Try blizzarding the peon line. A mage with full mana can completely wipe out all peasants usually before your opponent can react. If you can't safely reach the peon line with your mage, turn him invisible.
He can walk right by any defenses and happily blizzard away. :-)
Holy Vision
Use this to keep an eye on open mines. This will allow you to cut off opponents gold.
Healing
Use healing to help wounded soldiers live through more battles. Don't try to heal during battle, you'll likely heal enemy units.
Exorcism Try making your paladins invisible, then exorcising DK's. A paladin with full mana can take out a DK.
