Dragon Warrior Monsters Review

Do you want Pokemon like gameplay with randomly generated dungeons, and more?

Ups: Randomly generated dungeons, interesting new way of getting monsters (breeding), nice subquests.
Downs: If there is a down, it might be that after a while, randomly generated dungeons would get old.

Graphics- 8 out of 10- The graphics in this game are nothing great. But at least they are Game Boy Color enhanced so that all the enemies and dungeons are all in glorious color. But basically the graphics in this game are just your basic RPG like areas and other things.

Sound- 8.5 out of 10- The sound in this game are nothing too great. There are normal RPG sounds of hitting an enemy, menu clicks, etc. But the music in places is surprisingly catchy for a Game Boy Color title.

Replay Value- 9 out of 10- To start out with this game will take you a considerable clip to complete, (at least 20 to 30 hours if you try to collect all the different monsters there are). But even after that you can start a new game or fight or trade with a friend.

Overall- 9 out of 10- This is surprisingly good Pokemon clone. But there are enough differences between this game and Pokemon to warrant a purchase of this game. For example, there are subquest that can get you new monsters, but you don't have to do them. You can also breed two monsters to get a new monster like the two parents, a very novel idea.
