Your task in the game is become the Avatar and enter the chamber of the Codex of Ultimate
Wisdom. This is done by obtaining  the following goals: become 8 parts avatar, have the key of 3 parts, know the word of passage, know the pure axiom, go to the chamber and correctly answer the questions put to you by the Codex. I'm not going to tell you how to do and get most things, so I don't spoil the game for you.

Section 1: Where to find the runes

Honesty - Northwest corner of Moonglow. Search the chest next to Mariah.
Compassion - Northeast corner of Britain (the Inn). Search at the end of the hallway.
Valor - Southeast edge of Jhelome. It is in one of the four towers that connect long hallways surrounding Jhelome.
Justice - Northwest corner of Yew, enter the jailhouse and speak with Talfourd. Search the felon's cell.
Sacrifice - In the weapons shop in Minoc, you must enter a small room off to the southeast of it. In the lower right hand corner of this room is a fire pit. Search the southeast corner of the firepit.
Honor - In the southwest corner of Trinsic, Virgil is surrounded by a wall of force fields of poison. Search the space just to the upper-right of Virgil.
Spirituality - Rune is located in a small room past the guard room in Lord British's castle. You must find the secret door which connects these rooms. Search the lower right-hand corner of the room.
Humility - In the southeast corner of the village of Paws is a group of mountains. You should see Wheatpin and talk to him first. Search the nook of the mountains.

Section 5: Review of this game from my website

Ultima 4 Review

Do you want great RPG action that continues with Ultima's greatness?

Ups: Lots of places to go. You forced to stay on one path like a lot of RPG's.
Downs: The characters are really small, and sometimes you can't tell by looking at them which person they are.

Graphics- 7 out of 10- This game doesn't have spectacular graphics, but you can tell most stuff apart. The graphics in the introduction when you are choosing character cards looks really good.

Sound- 8 out of 10- There are some great sounds for just about every different place you can be. It has sounds for overworld, dungeon, etc.

Replay Value- 9 out of 10- There's many places to go, and you can always start over and choose different cards to get a totally different player.

Overall- 9.5 out of 10- This is a great RPG that continues the Ultima series. Just think of all the other Ultima type RPG games, and you have this game.

Section 6: General Hints

1. You can't have two of the same profession in your party.
2. Talk to everybody you meet, and write down what important things they might say for later use.
3. The commands you can use for talking are as follows: Name, Job, Health, Look, Join, Give.
4. Make sure to explore all cities, towns, and villages totally.
5. Save Often because you never know when you're going to die, or get lost.
