Warlocked Review

Do you want awesome RTS action on Game Boy Color?

Ups: 27 wizards to collect and trade. Multiplayer action with 2 Game Boy Colors and 2 Warlocked game paks. Mini-games to unlock.
Downs: Somewhat slow framerates when you have many units on the screen at once. It would help to have more than 24 missions. Some missions are way too easy.

Graphics- 8 out of 10- The graphics in this game are pretty impressive for a Game Boy Color game. It is very easy to tell the difference between different units, even wizards. Both the beasts and the humans have different unit styles. Some missions use different building and ground tiles, giving this game a nice not samey touch.

Sound- 9 out of 10- The sound in this game really impressed me. I heard how the game was supposed to have digitized speech, and I figured it wouldn't be that good, but it is. Different units have different speech patterns, even wizards. The music is somewhat catchy, but it drowns out the speech and sound effects, making you turn it off. There's not an option to lower the volume of either the music or the sound effects; you can only turn them off or on.

Replay Value- 8 out of 10- This game has a fair amount of replay value because there's 24 missions (13 human, 11 beast). Most of the missions are fun to replay over and over again. You can also play this game multi-player with 2 Game Boy Colors and 2 Warlocked game paks. You can also play some of the mini-games that you can unlock from the different missions. You can also unlock multi-player maps in the single-player missions.

Overall- 8.5 out of 10- This game will appeal to both experienced RTS gamers, like me, and casual RTS gamers also. Basically, if you even faintly like RTS games; you should pick up this title.
